Convenient. About the best thing I can say. I'm from the east coast where there have been prolific amounts of Chinese takeouts in any city I've lived in. I've noticed Chicago doesn't seem to have as many. This location is one of the only ones I've found within a long stretch. Food is relatively bland, so I agree with other reviewers on this. It's like they don't use enough spice or the food has no heart. Recently ordered beef/broccoli and it almost tasted like stew rather than an Asian dish....I tasted NO ginger or other distinctive spice. My biggest complaint is that they don't provide fried noodles for soup (or at all). I noticed this at a couple of other places as well. They either dont have them or you have to buy them...REALLY? I also have to practically beg for hot sauce. This location makes you buy some for 50 cents I believe. (Thats for a little cup of "pepper oil". Im not sure if they even have hot sauce packets).
Sorry, I just need a hood takeout with good, inexpensive, clean food.
Update: since my review I've been back a couple of times and I admonish you to check your order before leaving the store. Every time I've gotten something from them they messed up the order. I recently ordered a sm. vegetable soup to get home and find out although I wasn't charged for it, I had a large size chicken noodle and not a small vegetable! What is...
Read moreWell, I’d been craving Chinese all week and decided I’d pick up some on Sunday after my shift. Mind you, I’ve only had authentic Chinese food 1/2x in my lifetime. I was gonna go to Panda Express, but the reviews were not encouraging 😞😩 and as a broke student🙂↔️ cost efficiency is KEY (good food/good price). Anyways found Chop Suey with lots of wonderful reviews and I’m glad to say it wasn’t disappointing at all.
The portions very very good for the price ✅ I was scared all the shrimp, beef and chicken pieces where only at the top, but that fried rice kept giving all the way to the bottom ✅ Also found it impressive that the 🥡 wasn’t soiled, and held its own..it’s probably indestructible 😅🥢
I forgot to ask for my meal to be made extra spicy, but that’s nothing a little hot sauce didn’t fix.
Also liked that the guy at the cash register was super nice, patient and friendly…you deserved a tip.
I do wonder what the difference is between an Egg roll and a Spring roll…cause I legit expected to see some eggs in that😂😂
Altogether a very delightful...
Read moreBack to Chicago after years, discovered this amazing place today! I have been transitioning/moving and had to eat out a lot lately. I don't often write reviews but this is truly the best meal I've had this year. I asked what's good, they said General Tso's chicken. Hands down the best variation of the dish I've ever had. the fried rice was delicious and the portions were enormous, I can put away some food and this delicious freshly made crispy yummyness was probably enough for 2 may be even 3 portions/meals. Oh I also had the best crab Rangoon ever, way too much food but I hadn't eaten all day. Needless to say at $12.96 for all that, I will be trying everything on the menu and probably write...
