I am far from a food critic but I know what I like and OMCC really knocked my socks off. Located right on the corner of Central Park and Irving Park RD with plenty of street parking.
First off, the atmosphere is very relaxed with big windows that allow the sunlight to spill in. The build out is very spacious and clean and the customer service is always on point!
Everytime I come in I hear laughing, see people smiling and even little children playing in the childâs play pen which is composed of a sit down area, childrensâ books and a sketch pad for the little artists to express themselves.
The Food! I am obsessed with the âAndyâ breakfast sandwich! Bacon, generous amount of egg, cheese, and last but definitely not least, the very delicious aioli sauce! Donât get me started on the âEspresso Tonic.â Itâs a perfect blend of earthy bitterness and a sweet, tangy , citrusy taste! A refreshing drink that stays on my mind and keeps me coming back.
All of this is wrapped in a warm and comfortable environment under incredible owners. Iâve known Greg for some years now and he is nothing short of a true gentleman. I am extremely proud of his vision/creation and will forever be a customer.
Our Mutual City Coffee is a true neighborhood coffee shop, which I will travel a few extra miles just to be a part of. Now off to finish my last few sips of my Espresso...
Read moreThis café is the real deal, and so lives up to it's name! I observed a sincerity of service that made me want to return; the quality and presentation of coffee craft, and community connection are palpable. When I mentioned, to the barista, that it was my first visit they asked if I was new to the area--made me feel genuinely welcomed. It's a loved, clean, and well-lit place--and incredibly cozy. I came on a rainy day to read before the library opened, and so appreciated the ambience of friendliness, and calm. Super conducive to concentration but plenty comfortable if you're meeting a friend or entertaining your kids. There is a sense of pride, and heart about this third space that really sets it apart. Thanks for making this space for the neighborhood, Greg and company, ya'll are...
Read moreI really like this place, the staff, and the atmosphere. The food and quality need work which is why Iâm leaving this review.
The baked goods are slightly off. Some pastries Iâve had just tasted off like the measurements werenât right. The bagels are extremely over salted. I had a chocolate canele thing that was good! Itâs like the dough in the pastries isnât right.
The quality of the drinks is sometimes really good and sometimes off, sometimes when I order a cappuccino I get a burnt latte.
This is a new place and I know these are just growing pains. Otherwise this is such a lovely cafe and addition to the neighborhood, and I look forward to continuing coming here. Having said that, coffee is expensive and when I go out for a treat I hope things can be somewhat...
