El Llano can definitely be a good place to go in and get something delicious to eat. However after my most recent experience I have to think about going back. My family and I go or used to go here every Sunday after church and even when we have visitors coming we always try to take them to El Llano as it is our favorite restaurant.
On a typical Sunday after church we all decided to go to El Llano and this includes me, my wife, son, parents, sister and grandmother so we definitely needed a bigger table than the standard and we grabbed a couple of tables and put them together. We always decide to separate our checks and we are always very specific about it when ordering. So we ordered, ate and as always tried to have fun.
Upon receiving our checks we noticed 18% tip already included in our totals and on top of that an additional line to leave a tip at the bottom? What kind of regulation is this that we are forced to leave tip? We tried to have this explained and the waitresses at that moment only explained that it was because we were a bigger table and they had to include those charges. Really?? Even when we decided to separate our orders and checks?
Is there anything more stupid that you could have invented to excuse you are basically STEALING?
2.Why cant I grab a couple of tables and put them together to share my lunch with my family? is there a fee for this?
As I stated, going back to El Llano is something I will think about twice and may be more. My wife definitely does not EVER want to go back, she felt scammed and my Dad told them straight up they were losing customersssssssss. I also want to mention that this is not the first time this has happened! at their location on Montrose the fat greasy waitress decided to tip her self $5 on a $12 order, my mistake for leaving the tip line blank and trusting them but that was not appropriate and more than 18%. Called the owner several times and NEVER heard anything back!
Well then again THIEVES!!! food is good and some servers are also very nice and serviceful but the administration needs some serious help in business management and keeping hands off...
Read moreWe ordered some pastelillos.they were so hard. Over fried. My niece or chicharon con arepas and i Order shrimp with fries, which was also over fried. My niece asked for a take out tray, and the server practically shoved the foam plate on my nieces face when handling it to her. So rude. Never again! In reply to the manager. I know pastelillos are a Puerto Rican fritter, and Empanadas are Columbian fritter. The name Empanadas and Patelillos. Is the same to us Puerto Ricans. Now I have come to this restaurant numerous times with friends and family. Order them fritters before, and they were never overcooked. I took .my niece there because she wanted to try some Columbian food. I know that the fritters and shrimp have to be cooked at a certain temperature, but for it to be overcooked where the roof of your mouth and the side of your mouth are scratched is a bit much. Did I like the service given to us that day No! Did we enjoy...
Read moreFirst off I recommend Brasa Roja on montrose! Bomb ass Columbian food. A few weeks ago I had a taste for the rotisserie chicken and since I live in the area I just wanted to check them out. I get there and they don't sell em so I opted for the ARROZ COMBINADO con pechuga de Pollo con vegetables as well as the chorizo con arepa.
This i had to order to go because I had my baby. Anywho I paid the $16 something to get home to some dry rice, the only thing I guess was decent to me were the fries! The tiny arepa was hard as hell and and chorizo might as well be chips, they were too hard. This was just a 5 minute walk too. Needless to say I was disappointed and just not going back.
This passed weekend we walked to brasa roja to get my chicken fix and it was still DELICIOUS! The arepa and the rest of the food was still soft and warm even after a 20 Minute walk! So...
