The customer service was nice. We were greeted upon walking in. The cashier explained the drink and food choices. I went knowing I wanted the salted caramel hot chocolate. They offer a free topping of marshmallows on top, which I opted out of. I also got the sandwhich with ham, cheese, caramelized onion, and micro greens. The hot chocolate was reminiscent of hot chocolate in Italy.
It was a nice, rich, thick consistency. As for taste, I could taste the salt, but there wasn't much of a caramel taste. The drink was also not piping hot, so definitely not the hot chocolate you have to wait to cool down and you sip to warm you on a cold day like yesterday.I wouldn't get this again, but there is another flavor I would try. Also, if larger drinks aren't your thing, i would not get the 13oz and get the 7oz. I should have gotten that which I would have finished.
They also had a flight of drinks that were smaller than the 7 oz of three drinks of your choice. The sandwich was ok it was a cold, cut open face sandwich. I was expecting it to be hot, but it was still ok. It would not be something I get again. The drink itself is ok on the consistency.
I'm sure there may be another flavor that tastes better. Also, the atmosphere gets a few stars as the employees were nice, but the customers made it weird. I'm assuming there are not too many poc that patron the shop? But I could be off base and just went on...
Read moreThis is the best confections place I have been to in Chicago and it’s not even debatable…kind of like what the top 2 presidential candidates are doing 😬
They have a location in Logan Square, but this one just opened up a couple of months ago, and it gives you all the sweet vibes a confections shop should.
You want to know about the sweets? I know! We got 2 truffles. They do a lot of experimenting, so depending on the time of year you stop by, they will have flavors true to that season for you to pick from. We ended up getting a goat cheese walnut and a sweet corn cilantro truffle. I loved the sweet corn one because it made no sense to my simple mind for it to be this good in chocolate form. The goat cheese walnut is like when Drake and 21 Savage get together—a rich flex!
My favorite, though, was the chocolate milkshake. The great thing about this place is there's no powdered nonsense; it's all pure, real, unadulterated chocolate. The milkshake was no different. The first sip of it, I could immediately taste the difference, and it instantly pumped chocolate into my veins and transported me to a higher level of living. It was so smooth, so decadent, and so damn necessary!
It was a warm summer day, so the only reason to look forward to the cold will be to come back and enjoy the much-hyped...
Read moreCame here for the marshmallows but fell in love with the hot chocolate. They have hot chocolate flight!! And you can order it iced. I took home the seasonal flavors of lavender and the hazelnut stout. Wow! It was amazing. I can taste the herbal note of lavender. The hz stout was equally nutty and flavorful. The creaminess is astounding even for a cold drink. I had some leftovers in the fridge overnight and it didn't even separate. It was like cream, almost like drinking ice cream but better. It's not too sweet, just a heaven blend of flavors. I read more info and learned they used Kilgis cream. As to the marshmallows, I got a couple of bags with different flavors to try: Earl grey (5/5), cinnamon - not too cinnamon-y which is good but I'm not a fan of cinnamon in general, spicy chocolate (The spice is like a twinkle, 4/5) and salted caramel (5/5 except this was kind of melty), Biscoff (5/5), Ambrosia - feel too much going on. Mocha (uneventful), Mocha (flavor is undefined). And of course opted for vanilla marshmallow for my hot chocolate drinks. I find the marshmallows a tad bit on the sweet side. The barista was super!
They had some event going on at the back room when I visited. I'm so proud to have this establishment in the neighborhood. Will come...
