Now this place is a hidden gem! I literally had the worst day of 2022, and I was happy that it ended here. Long story short, I totaled my car hours before I came here which resulted in me taking it to a nearby collision shop for repair. Almost directly across the street I seen what appeared to be a restaurant, didn’t even know what, but I was so hungry I didn’t care. Upon arrival I was delighted to find out that it actually was a sushi restaurant with a relatively diverse pallet that includes sushi of course, but also familiar favorites like fried chicken and Asian inspired adaptations of American cuisine. In other words if you have a mom like I do that no matter where you go, or how fancy the restaurant is, she’s going to order friend chicken periodt. So this place is probably a good option for those going on a first date and not worrying if your partner isn’t going to like what’s on the menu because it’s something on there for everyone, even kids. Not only was the food exceptional but so was the service, from the delivery of my food to taking out what I had left. You’ll be happy to leave a tip here. Will definitely support this business any time I’m in the area. Heck, even when I’m not in the area, it’s places like these that make the drive worth it. Thanks Raiz for taking...
Read moreLike a lot of people, the fact that Raiz offers Italian AND Japanese food threw me off, but I came for a girl group for sushi in November of 2022 and the experience was wonderful - not crowded on a Friday late evening, intimate atmosphere in the back with the bar, service a little slow but kind, and some great food!
Being a group, we ordered simple rolls and Shrimp Yakisoba, as well as specialty rolls to share: The unique-and-a-bit-too-spicy-for-me-personally River Beast and Zesty Islander (I'm weak to spiciness); Black Monster, The Anne, and the lovely Pink Flower; And my personal favorite - the Ocean Vinaigrette. I'm a sucker for anything with Ponzu on it (give me citrusy-salty any day, and I could have happily eaten the whole Ocean Vinaigrette with its "tart, refreshing blueberry ponzu vinaigrette" on top and come back for more. SOLD.
Overall, it's great place for groups, Japanese cuisine (with unique rolls and flavor combinations) and drinks (hello Sapporo and Kirin!) as well as its...
Read more4/5 stars because it was a great meal, but had some flaws. We tried the buffalo wings, which had a classic tasting buffalo sauce, but they were breaded, which causes the wings to become soggy in transit. No blue cheese dressing for dipping, just ranch. The medusa specialty roll was amazing, huge pieces so be prepared for 2 bites per piece. The garlic salmon roll was also great, the house garlic ponzu is what made it, I could drink that sauce. The tequila roll was decent, very fresh tuna. I didn't give 5 stars because I've had better sushi in the area, the wings were breaded, no blue cheese dressing, and the price was high for the neighborhood and location. Will definitely be back to try more menu items to get the full restaurant experience and I want to support local family owned restaurants. 1st experience was great, but not the best sushi in...
