My wife and I have gotten take-out from Shattaz before but we finally dined in to get a fuller experience. The Good. Let me start by saying the food was flavorful and delicious and our server was very kind. The food didn't take very long but we were also the only ones in there ordering food. The art and music were on theme and pleasant. The Bad. We sat for about 5 minutes before we received water or our menus. For some reason, there aren't any drinks listed on the menu and the server never asked if we wanted anything else to drink beyond water. I got the curry goat and my wife got jerk chicken. Again, very flavorful, but the jerk had no heat to it which was disappointing. The goat was bony so while the goat curry is delicious, you don't get as much bang for your buck as you would getting the jerk chicken. They were also out of around 4 items; they didn't have beef patties (which I really wanted to try), they didn't have wings (which is what my wife tried to order), and a couple of other things as well. Again, very disappointing. There was someone tampering with the music at first and for a good 30-45 seconds, it got very bassy and loud, but they quickly resolved it. Final Verdict. I hope they get their service time a little quicker and sharper, that they get a drink menu, and get some consistency with their menu items. We'll definitely be returning and we want them to flourish and prosper in that location for years to come. Irving Park needs a place...

Read moreWhere can I start, well my overall experience at This Jamaican restaurant was amazing. Let’s break it down, the customer service is top tier, the staff were professional and kind, it was my first time there I went to buy my food for take out and the atmosphere made me change my mind, the taste of the food is almost unexplainable I couldn’t find the words when I tasted that ‘RICE&PEAS and CURRY GOAT’ not to mention the ‘JERK CHICKEN’ all I could do was give facial expressions, when I say the food is good I mean it’s really authentic I mean it’s freshly cooked, not too fresh in taste, not too salt, not over seasoned, not under seasoned, not overcooked, not under cooked steaming hot and the smell of every dish was just perfect. The place was clean from the counter to the dining area to the bathroom it’s very clear that these staff are genuinely passionate about what they do this place is a easy 10/10 I love it and I will be going again very soon thanks to all the staff for your...
