Best time to go: 3pm - 5pm when your flight is stupid delayed. Make the most of it and come here.
Short version: the best Italian restaurant experience I have ever had and the best restaurant experience period. The waiter that served me, Constantine was amazing. But not only just with me, he was so kind with everyone he served. He would be the personable waiter to match the personality to whoever he was serving. It was such a talent and such a gift to see. Someone so passionate about sharing the Italian culture and cuisine. Do yourself a favor and before going in just ask if he’s working that day. If he’s not just come back another day. You would be better off just waiting for him to be your server so you can have the best experience you will ever have.
Constantine if you’re reading this ask for the raise you deserve because if I had Jeff Bezo money I would just hire you as my private waiter so you can tell me a story about how good a dish is and why I need to try it and what wine would go best with it and why lol.
Longer version: Do not believe any of these negative reviews. I do not understand what all these reviews are on about. What is going on with these people? The prices are expensive? Okay this is an Italian restaurant at an airport and EVEN THEN the portions are MASSIVE. The star dish (salsiccia con peperoni) when served to you looks small right? You are wrong. Underneath that pasta are 3 huge massive sausages (lol I know). And it would be a challenge for anyone to finish. I came there starving and I wish I could have finished it or at least taken it home with me.
Constantine is so good he will also recommend the best wine pairing for any dish you order and actually walk you through why. And as much as you may be skeptical, the man knows his stuff and he is right! I’m not even a huge wine person but that wine + that dish made such a big difference in my experience.
Oh my god and then there’s the desert. I have had Tiramisu in the past and it was always like “eh it’s okay”. When I had the one here I was absolutely blown away. Like into another dimension. Constantine was upset the espresso machine they have was broken that day and his Italian soul just couldn’t handle me having it without it and needing to have it with “regular” coffee but even that coffee was super strong lol. And paired with that Tiramisu? It was out of this world.
And the price for all of this? Half of what I expected to pay at an airport. Truly. And for the service from Constantine? That’s just priceless. There’s only 1 Constantine and if he ever doesn’t work there they need to have something called the “Constantine special” and know that you missed out...
Read moreOn July 24th, 2017, I was seated at Stefani's Tuscany Café at the O’Hare airport. I fly 4 times a week, so I find myself in Chicago often. Let me preface this complaint with the fact that I dine at this restaurant weekly, and have more than 15 receipts just from the last 2 months. My credit card statement can also provide verification that this is true. I am no stranger to the poor service at this place, but after so many visits, I am deciding to post. I have never had to file a complaint anywhere as I am fairly patient and understanding person. I have been to this restaurant more than 15 times in a couple of months, so for me to finally write to you must say a lot. I was seated at 4:40pm. I waited. I waited. I waited. Finally at 5:05pm, I got up to leave. I stopped at the host stand to speak with the manager, Ruben. While speaking with him, the other middle-aged male who is a host, decided that he wanted to argue with the manager who was the one who sat me. The host said that it had only been “10 minutes.” EVEN IF that were true, I am not sure why he thought a customer should have to wait 10 minutes for a menu or water to drink. The two men seated next to me also commented on how long I had sat there patiently waiting. Regardless, I am now seated happily at Macaroni Grill where the service is great, and where I will be dining two times per week. I understand that your location is in a busy airport, but that should not mean customer service should be compromised. Sure, I am just one the hundreds of customer who dine with you each day, but I regret that the service has never been exceptional. For someone to be seated and wait more than 20 minutes without a menu, drink, or even a greeting from a server that they will be right with me is just unacceptable. I order the same thing every time I visit, and the bill is always right around $50 with tip. Although I will miss your Pomodoro meatball, chicken parmesan, and bread, I will not miss the poor service where customers are just a burden for your servers. I hope you understand how frustrated I am that I wasted 20 minutes waiting to spend $50, but I am glad that I did not have to spend it at Stefani’s...
Read moreDo Not Recommend at all
I recently dined at a restaurant at Chicago O'Hare airport, and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. To begin with, I ordered the salmon based on a server's recommendation, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
First and foremost, the presentation of the dish was abysmal. It genuinely appeared as if the kitchen staff were just throwing food onto the plate without any care or attention to detail. The salmon itself was particularly unappetizing, and I couldn't believe it was something recommended by the server. The fish looked overcooked, dry, and lacked any sort of appealing seasoning or presentation.
Furthermore, the side of three asparagus spears that accompanied the salmon was a complete disaster. All three asparagus were severely burnt, rendering them inedible. It's shocking that a restaurant could serve such poorly prepared vegetables.
The service didn't fare any better. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, making the overall dining experience even more disappointing. It was a stark contrast to what one would expect, especially given the prices at an airport restaurant.
Regrettably, not only was this meal a major letdown in terms of taste and presentation, but it also had a negative impact on my health. After consuming the meal, my stomach felt upset, and I experienced discomfort for hours afterward. This added health issue made the experience even more regrettable.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against dining at this particular restaurant at Chicago O'Hare airport, especially for dinner. It was by far the worst $40 I've ever spent on a meal. The subpar food quality, burnt asparagus, and terrible service make it an experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone.
Hopefully, my review can serve as a cautionary tale for others seeking a better dining option while at...
