Intimate. Romantic. Nicely executed Blast from the Past Menu that is now more interesting than #Chicago #downtown menu. Prolly the ONLY decent white table restaurant in the ORD area. 😮
I ♥️♥️ Complementary Bread and Butter. Soft Bread texture and size is similar to Puerto Rican or any European restaurant ...definitely not sourdough.
My new VEAL purveyor. It's been a while since I've had VEAL MARSALA with an excellent portion. I'm so full.
If you want a unique dish, get the ORANGE ROUHY FRANCESE. Everything orange was popular then. I look forward to having this on my next meal.
PRICE wise, decent with excellent portion. It can't be t.h.a.t cheap as it's white table, staff salary, the art and cleaning the mega chandelier. 💸
Please support BAR PIANO ENTERTAINMENT that plays nightly at 6:30 pm from Mon-Sat. Note, on Thursdays (Senior Citizen Serbian who is constantly late so, hope for 7 pm 😉).
WINE is the best pour I have ever seen. Go for it!
Bartender/Waitress Extraordinaire Toni highly recommended TARTUFO. Definitely, old school. My crunchy shell expectation is nuovo. 😐 Delish.
Note, SALT & PEPPER on table is true and authentic to the time when they first opened. Due to my high blood pressure, for a change, I don't mind being under seasoned but not, tasteless.
Due to excellent semi-private spaces, feel free to indulge in business negotiation over good food and wine. 👏
Thank you BlockClubChicago.org for the recommendation. I think it's time that I subscribe with you guys as you have been generous in your articles. 🙏 Sharing...
Read moreThe Gaslight provides a unique vintage atmosphere with live piano and some singing later in the evening. Service is solid and professional. (Less of family restaurant, but great for couples and business.) If you want more quiet dining, request a booth which allows for more seclusion. If okay out in the open ballroom, it'll be noisier, but still fine for conversation, and better accommodates a small group. Food was tasty and unique, with veal, seafood, steak, poultry, salad, wienerschnitzel, and more. I had duck, w/ asparagus and rice. Duck was perfectly cooked and seasoned with a sweet glaze. My colleague had the same dish, while another had the tuna, and they both enjoyed their food very much as did I. Ceasar side salad was also decent as well, but seemed more standard fare. Portions are medium to small, but filling, especially with a nice desert menu following. My colleagues really liked their "Palomo" and "Old Fashioned" mixed drinks. ($14-16). Pricey dinner, but very convenient and somewhat classy dining spot if staying in the hotel, or simply as a business stop-over meeting place. The Hilton hotel is directly accessible from ORD Terminal 2, with ample parking in structures across the street. Note: If Uber'g, you'll want to select this Gaslight Restaurant in the app to get your ride to the correct "out front" location. It seems Uber keeps insisting on a terminal pickup with arriving flight info if scheduling ahead of time. Real-time Uber requests are a...
Read moreYikes thus place is awful and I think its horrendous it's even associated with Hilton (diamond member here). Server was hardly around and rude. Food was mediocre at best but overpriced for what it was. I have no problem dropping $200 on our dinner if the food if the food is good, even decent. We paid that much at the drake the day prior.. This food was edible but that's about it. We had 3 adults and a toddler. We asked if they had a children's menu, she said no but they have chicken tenders. I've been to multiple restaurants that don't have a kids menu but still have a kids dish so I assumed this to be the same. 3 chicken tenders and a small handful of fries come out....since they had no kids meal they charged us for an adult whole chicken meal. When I asked why the kids meal was an adult meal she rolled her eyes and said I told you we didn't have a kids menu! Thid was not the adult meal and was clearly for a small child.. We were also stuck in an empty room to eat. I understand we had a 2 year old but he didn't make a peep the whole time. Being sat in an isolated empty room away from the piano or any people or servers was a horrible experience. There were times we didn't see our server for at least 15 minutes. Doesn't seem long but when your drink is empty, 15 minutes is an eternity Please do not waste an hour and $200 eating here. Grub hub or take an uber somewhere. This place...
