I've eaten there 3 times and will start by saying the food is pretty good. The most recent time the manager really turned me off from going back.
My order took an hour because they mistakenly gave it to the wrong person and had to remake it. No big deal honestly, I know how it goes. I was mildly annoyed that nobody told me what was going on, and a little more annoyed that nobody was at the counter so I had to yell into the kitchen for an update on my food.
The part that really didn't sit will was the manager repeatedly blamed the teenage cashier for giving my order to the wrong person. I was fine with the mistake - those things happen. Instead of talking to me he asked the kitchen to remake it and left me sitting there another 15 minutes while everyone who got there after me got their food and left. The manager was the one who failed in this situation and the best he could come up with was "she screwed up, but your food is done and you're going to really like it. She gave it to someone else so I had to remake it." Ok there was a small mistake (giving my order to the wrong person) compounded by a bigger mistake (not communicating with me), followed by something I consider an unforgivable mistake (blaming your employee). I've worked in customer service too long to accept that kind of management. Probably...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by the high quality food that is served here at Teriyaki Madness. I was visiting neighboring store in the shopping plaza and was initially drawn by the smells of the grilled chicken teriyaki. I decided to try it out and as soon as I walked in all personnel were friendly and ready to take my order and also made suggestions. I did end up waiting about 15ish minutes for the food to come out, and it was well worth it. I can confirm with certainty that everything was prepared fresh, on the spot for my order, and there were no steps skipped in the process. I've read some of the other comments and will suggest for consumers to learn to appreciate that the preparation time takes a bit more than a traditional fast food restaurant, but in return you get a meal that has a flavor explosion in every bite and is satisfying!
On the way out, not sure if he was the owner or manager, I was asked how the food was and I gave him feedback, reiterating that everything was excellent apart from the rice being a bit wet/overcooked, yet it still has plenty of flavor. He assured me that he will let the kitchen know.
I will definitely go back at one point and hope that the high quality will still be there. I was pleasantly surprised by how this experience turned out,...
Read moreI can understand why this is one of the fastest growing franchises. It is very affordable, fast serving time, and it tastes pretty darn good. Teriyaki sauce is very well made, good flavor.
I am giving 4 stars, though, because I came here a few times since the opening, and I feel like the portions have reduced a bit. I ordered double protein and felt a little short. Double meat order was today, a picture of regular chicken teriyaki and orange chicken was a month ago. Plus, they really need to switch how they cut steak. Thinly sliced meat like this, very easy to over cook, becomes very chewy and rubbery. But everything else, especially chicken, is really juicy and tender. I highly recommend chicken teriyaki, but I did not really like steak or orange chicken. I also recommend getting the app, has a good reward system. Solid fast food...
