Vito & Angelo Pizzeria — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

My husband called in to place an order. He specifically asked for the Monday special which is chicken parmigiana. We’ve ordered it before and never had an issue. The girl who answered was too busy talking to everyone else to listen to what my husband was ordering. He finished the order and went to pick it up. Got it home and it was a small, unbreaded chicken breast covered in pasta, green peppers and mushrooms. There was literally half a green pepper slice in this container and more green peppers than there is chicken. That is not chicken parmigiana. Called back up and the girl who answered kept trying to take his order again instead of listening to him explain he just picked up his order and it was messed up. She then finally gets it and says it’s our fault because they make chicken parmigiana 2 ways. One with green peppers and mushrooms and then the Monday special which does not list green peppers or mushrooms as being ingredients. She asked us to send her a picture because she wanted to see what we got. We sent it over and she still said we would have to pay for a new order. At this point I said I didn’t want a new order and she said ok bye and hung up. My husband called back and asked to speak to a manager for a refund and the girl who answered said there is no manager. She took down his phone number and said someone would call him whenever a manager shows up. This is not customer service. Not even sure why they would sell the same dish two different ways and not ask how the customer would like their order. I will never order...

sal.....you have exceptional pizza that includes oregano in your ingredients! true chicago tavern style. never have any issue with your food, which is why i order weekly without fail. i always look forward to it. keep those coupons coming! true authentic pizza that one expects in chicago. please keep doing what you doing.

my concern is accurate order taking and delivery. my last few orders have been riddled with errors that can be avoided. this is becoming more consistent than before. order takers write down incorrect addresses or telephone numbers for my weekly delivery order. this results in your delivery drivers taking time to reconcile accurate delivery information. i order weekly which is enough for some of your drivers to recall my delivery location. once, a driver shouted for me outside my home because my telephone number was incorrect on the delivery order ticket.

your drivers then complain to me about such incorrect delivery order information. repeatedly, i have encouraged them to speak to the supervisor, manager or owner. a few drivers had said to me that "they don't care." i do not believe that, as your establishment has been in operation for decades. businesses do not succeed by not caring.

i remain hopeful that quality control protocols will stabilize, improve and continue to add value to your success.

I frequently order carry-out from here, and at first it was due to the convenience factor being basically unbeatable. After trying a couple of different places in the area that offer similar options, I will keep ordering from Vito & Angelos. Not only are their dishes almost always on point (no one's perfect, I've only had one or two nominal complaints), generously portioned, and most importantly really effing good... but the family who owns and runs the spot (...you guys are a family, right? lol...) are always really cool and polite & I want to support good people like them. Plus one of the ladies up front is always sure to open the door for me on the way out & as ny hands are inevitably full of yum, this is a very appreciated gesture that I love.

Even though starting today Chicago begins their really, really lame tax on sweetened beverages/sugary beverages/everything you touch & look at/the air/you soul and this tax now means that at Vito & Angelos you will no longer get a free 2 liter with a purchase of @ least $10, and even though there's other places around that may be priced lower, I would rather pay a little more for the quality and consistency that's less than a block from my...
