YAY for new ice cream in J-Town! Bonus points because it's no not big, corporate ice cream, but local, possibly-made-by-someone-you-know ice cream!
Scoops N Such opened not long ago and on a recent Sunday the wife and I were looking for an afternoon snack and then realized "Wait! We haven't been to Scoops & Such yet!"
It's a small, unassuming store front sandwiched between a nail place and a Domino's Pizza in the space that used to be Cookie Dough Bliss.
The interior is cozy and as soon as you walk in you're greeted with the ice cream case, and, MAN, did all those flavors look awesome!
The young lady behind the counter helped with our orders. I was compelled to try something new, so I went with a single scoop of blackberry ice cream with chocolate chips. I don't recall the name of it, but it was 100% surprisingly good!
My wife knew what she wanted when she walked in the door: Mint Chip ice cream. I think she ranks ice cream places by their Mint Chip ice cream.
There are 24 different flavors of home made ice cream and each looked really good. It was really hard to decide.
The accent colors are a bit pastel, with a light teal being the primary color. There are a few seats for anyone who wants to eat in, and a child's table for the little ones.
To my delight I see they also have malts (a chocolate malt will be my next visit), floats, and a number of specialty Sundaes. They also offer hand-packed pints of whatever ice creams they have in the case available for purchase. In fact, as we sat enjoying our ice cream the young lady was in the process of packing those very pints.
Scoops N Such is nice, quaint, fun little place that got that old-time ice cream shoppe feel. I hope...

My family and I arrived a couple of hours early, not realizing we were outside of business hours, and as luck would have it, the owner happened to be walking up. Instead of turning us away, he graciously let us in and allowed us to purchase ice cream.
Not only was he generous with his time, but he also went above and beyond to make our visit memorableābeing incredibly kind to my daughters and even performing a card trick for us as we enjoyed our treats. Moments like these are rare and deeply appreciated.
The ice cream itself? Absolutely phenomenal. This was our second visit, and it has officially become our favorite ice cream shop in the city. Between the top-notch service, the ownerās warmth and humor, and the outstanding quality of the ice cream, itās an experience we wonāt forget. Canāt recommend this place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe just came here for the first time. The decor is so cute, bright, and fun! The ice cream was so creamy and tasty! My husband had the cherry amaretto chunk and really loved the flavor. I had a scoop each of vanilla and their banana pudding ice cream. It was so good! I highly recommend giving this place a try! They make their own ice cream in house and you can tell itās...
