The owner was a friendly as a badger and has the personality of a vending machine. Knowing that the Maple Garden was a to go only restaurant, I had to have a plan. You can’t drive from Jenks to Broken Arrow and expect the General Tso’s chicken to be eatable. It will be nothing but a soggy mess. Across Elm St., directly east of the Maple Garden is Jenks’ very nice Veterans Park. The park has restrooms and covered picnic tables. A perfect place to enjoy lunch on this oddly warm November day. And that is what we did. We grabbed our sack of food and in five minutes we were enjoying lunch in Veterans Park! Since this is a to-go only restaurant, no service is expected. I will be fair only rate of the quality and taste of the food. And…It was good. I had General Tso’s combo meal. It comes with a good eggroll. Crispy fried white meat chicken in an excellent, slightly tart, savory sauce. My wife went with the Chicken Lo Mein. Also, very good. The portions were large. These were the now and later sized servings of food that you expect from a Chinese restaurant. The food is much more pleasant than the experience of interacting with the owner. My advice… call your order in and you can keep your interaction to a minimum. Like I said, there is no dinning in……Who the hell would want to.

Read moreOur favorite Chinese, the very best in Oklahoma. Moving here from California, we were having a hard time finding Chinese food we liked. I was looking all over for Wor Won Ton Soup and this is the only place that has it. It's called Subgum Won Ton , but its the same and just as good as in Cali. They have bbq pork too which I can't find on other menus. Everything has been fresh, delicious and huge portions. Some of our favorites beside the bbq pork and soup are - pork loin mein,( the best) egg foo young!, orange beef, beef and broccoli, happy family, beef and scallops, 3 seasons, dumplings. We haven't had anything we didn't like. We have a lot of leftovers for lunch which we love and their menu has more options than most. It is so clean in there too and they get everything right in our big order every time. We won't eat anywhere else for Chinese food. So happy to have found...

I received a quart of food that was mostly undercooked veggies and watery sauce. The chicken in the container was dry and woody in a thin watery sauce. I thought the dry, woody chicken at Chinese restaurants was limited to fried chicken breasts that were not properly par-cooked. I didn't know that sautéed chicken thighs could have such a terrible texture - thighs are pretty hard to overcook.
I was most disappointed with the fried rice that came as an upcharged side. It is not even fried, just steamed rice with chicken bouillon, roughly chopped steamed onion, and a bag of steamed frozen veggies. Nothing about it suggested that it was pan-fried at any point, but they charge several dollars more for it over steamed rice with a pennies worth of extra...
