Update
Hi Robert - thank you so much for your reply. Normally, I wouldn't bother to reply back to such nonsense but, since your reaction after the fact was to defend your actions instead of offering an apology, I'm more than happy to point out the holes in your rebuttal.
First and foremost, let me be clear - we LOVE the staff at your bar. As I mentioned, we've been coming in since Rachel was bartending and have made it a point to either order delivery or stop in when time permits several times a month. Your staff was not the issue on this day - YOU were the issue.
Conveniently, you posted the time the orders were processed in your system but didn't mention that we placed our order with our waitress way before they were entered in. What was the delay you ask? Oh that's right, she was held up by your party getting drinks and taking your order.
Also, why not post the time we ordered drinks when we sat down? Because not once did anyone come over to us and ask if we needed anything (keep in mind the bar was pretty much empty and no other tables were seated).
Lastly, when asked how come your party got your food before us, your waitress replied, "What do you want me to do? That's my boss." And please don't make it seem like our food was minutes away from being served - when we requested the check, it was specifically because she told us they were just starting it.
Again, this could have gone a number of different ways but I find it very telling that you chose to go on the defensive. I believe that speaks volumes about who's in charge there. Not surprisingly, we've heard similar experiences from our friends that do not frequent your bar anymore. I have a feeling we won't be the last.
Don't show up when the owners decide to come in for lunch. My family and I are normally regulars here and come in several times a month with our now two children. Today our order got skipped so the owners and their family's meal could be prioritized. We sat almost an hour in an otherwise empty bar without even being asked if we needed another round of drinks so they could get their food first despite ordering after us. One of the owners was so disillusioned that she tried to defend what happened instead of trying to find a solution to get food prepared for our hungry kids when we decided to leave. Used to be our favorite spot in the Heights - now we...
Read moreI thought about this for a while - and then saw some of the recent comments from other people that had issues at this place for almost 2 years now. I posted a review on here a couple months ago, basically saying how this place has gone downhill since the owner's wife started running/ruining it. I decided to delete it because that owner's wife kept responding with incoherent messages (saying nothing is ever her fault and blaming the bartenders, compares their burgers to McDonald's for some reason) - to the point that I had to keep updating my review so I could correct her and put her in check. I got tired of going back and forth with her and I deleted everything. All you gotta do is look at the critical reviews and see how she (or the actual owner) respond to the customers. That should tell you everything you need to know. Losing at least 6, 7 bartenders in under 2 years, you're the problem. Trashing your own bartenders online, accusing them of stealing with no proof to back up your claim, or sending your employees threatening text messages constantly, you're the problem. Refusing to provide security for the female bartenders after they keep asking you for it (and the regulars have to police the place instead), or you try to make a bartender pay out of pocket for damages caused by the weather (which then makes that bartender turn around and quit) - you're the problem. Telling customers they can stop coming to the bar, instead of finding out what's wrong and working to fix the problems in the first place means YOU are the problem. Period. A regular at this spot for damn near a decade - I will not set foot in this place again until either its sold to someone else, or it just goes out of business...which might be happening sooner rather than later.
On a side note - it's interesting that when someone posts a critical review of this place, a bunch of random 4 and 5-star reviews start to pop up. Do...
Read moreNow let me tell you all I’ve grown up in this neighborhood all my 24 years of living. My family and I came to this establishment for the first time EVER today May 23, 2021. Let’s just say it wasn’t as expected. The service was beyond disappointing, when I approached the bar to ask if we can be seated instead of indoors the server/bartender was quick to tell me to sit back down rudely .. I had my mask on btw. The appetizer we ordered came 45 mins later, now there were four of us, everyone’s drink came sort of on time, I had ordered a soda and they totally forgot about it, same with my fathers beer. My brother ordered a cocktail and there was a little gnat in it. My brother then proceeded to order a margarita next and it was a glass of ice with a little bit of LQ and it was super watered down. The waiter/bartender gave him two excuses, 1.That’s the measurement they use and 2. it’s hot outside: the sun was already down at this point there’s a breeze and my brother and the rest of us took a sip too see if it was watered down AND IT WAS! When our food finally arrived no napkins were provided and when we asked for ketchup and another sauce IT NEVER CAME. My father had to get up to ask for another plate and napkins. Our waiter seemed to have “not been in the mood” and my brother still got charged for his very watered down margarita. The establishment was not super busy but no one was professional enough to let US customers know that our food was going to take a while to make! The service was ultimately really bad and that just made our first time experience horrible. My family and I are ones to be very grateful of the service we receive at an establishment as well as its meals, but this was just drastically different and very...
