We were really looking forward to going back to The Cliff. The atmosphere is cute and food a very good. But a couple of things made this particular brunch unpleasant. It started with the server not even asking us if we wanted coffee. The shrimp tacos, which were otherwise really good, were so heavily sauced, that the tacos sat in a puddle of aioli sauce, which made the bottom of the tacos soggy, affecting the taste and the ability to eat them by hand. I tried but the bottoms broke apart and I got aioli sauce all over a favorite white shirt. Then I tried fork and knife but it was a non-serrated knife so it just tore at the tacos. We ordered the Gorgonzola fries. We had had fries there in the past we liked but we decided to try a new flavor. The Gorgonzola they used actually made the fries taste worse than if they had been plain, and we left the basket half-filled; very unusual for us to do with fries. My husband's salmon salad was very good, he said, except he had ordered the salmon omelet. I pointed that out to the server when it was time to tally the bill, and she flat-out refused to take responsibility for her error, and blamed us. When we were looking at the menu, I had told her my husband was interested in that salad, but when it came time to order, he ordered the omelet. The waitress also gave me a take-home box with the pads of her fingers touching the inside of the box and her very, very long nails inside there as well,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn a sunny Sunday, we decided to check out The Cliff, a charming little cafe that caught our eye with its chic vibe and inviting atmosphere. With both indoor and outdoor seating options, itās the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a leisurely brunch while soaking up the sun.
The menu is particularly appealing, packed with a variety of vegan and vegetarian options that cater to a wide range of tastes.
We kicked off our meal with the Biscuit Sandwich, which typically comes with egg and cheese nestled inside a fluffy biscuit. This dish was quite impressive! The biscuit was perfectly baked, flaky on the outside while remaining soft inside, and the combination of flavors was delightful.
Next, we moved on to the Buffalo Cauliflower Wrap, which was a satisfying choice. We also tried the Cobb Salad, which, while decent, didnāt quite stand out as much as the other dishes.
To complement our meal, we indulged in some smoothies, which were refreshing and well-blended. They were a nice way to cool off on a warm day and added a healthy touch to our brunch. Iām already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of what they...
Ā Ā Ā Read more2 words. No stove! Iām not sure how an eating establishment succeeds without an actual stove and cooking going on, but this place is doing it. The newbie mellinials are loving it. Just went here for the 1st time bcus Noodlefan was closed so have been wanting to check it out based on the rave reviews. Took me about 10 minutes to figure out what to get bcus nothing was jumping off the menu. Iām from the area and am a foodie so was excited but I basically just wasted $17. Ugh. I opted for the ācod burgerā and was expecting a lovely piece of cod, sautĆ©ed in a pan, cooked on a stove put between brioche, yum! Instead I got an odd baseball shaped white clump of cut up cod that was pre-boiled Iām guessing.. it was heated in an electric oven, which is how they ācookā over here, it also came with greasy shoe string fries. I got home and was shocked. I broke up the cod baseball clump, sautĆ©ed with olive oil, browned it up, added salt for taste and ate it with a fork with the tiny bit of relish they threw in and aioli scraped off the bun. I was still hungry after....
