lil’ dove cafe — Restaurant in Jersey City

I have been coming here for years now. This cafe is only about two blocks from my house, so it's super convenient for me to get to. I usually only order from here sometimes before I go to work or once in a while on the weekends. I'm grateful this cafe is between my house and my job, because it's the only one near enough for me to walk to in the morning and still get to work on time.

Lil Dove Cafe is actually pretty little, lol. It's a small cafe that could be easy to overlook if you're not actually looking for it. It offers indoor seating, but there isn't a lot of space to sit many. They also offer outdoor seating, which helps make up for the limited inside space, I think. Despite its size, it has a lot of character and charm, and it also has a lot to offer. It's cozy and inviting inside and has lots of different non-food items to buy, such as candles, blankets, mugs, cards, stickers, and more! From what I've seen, the majority of those products are actually handmade. While that does make them more expensive, I do love companies that support other smaller (and sometimes local) companies and artists.

There are always different seasonal drinks and food options on their menu, besides their regular/ everyday meal items. I always love trying them out, especially the drinks, because they're usually so creative and delicious! I never have to wait long to receive my drinks/ food, which I love. The staff have always been friendly and kind to to me.

Lil Dove Cafe is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and they are open from Wednesday- Sunday 8am- 2pm. So, because of my normal schedule, I really only have a small time frame I'm able to order from them during the week, so I really love that you can order from them online before hand. They can be a bit pricey, but their food is usually great quality.

I moved in the area and I started coming regularly at lil’ dove cafe. Everyone was friendly and accomodating! My fave order was egg & spinach sandwich and iced latte. Today was different. My iced latte was a little sour and I let them know so they can change my drink and of course she checked the expiration date and said it will be on the 17th “okay?” I just hope they didn’t deny the fact that it tasted sour. “It will be the same milk. Okay!?”, she said. I said ok, threw my drink and left feeling dejected. Just because the label said otherwise, they’ll deny my experience. It’s sad how most businesses have no empathy. What’s $4.75 compare to the business relationship one can give. If it happened to you, esp during this difficult times, you would want a happy experience with your money.
