Mosa Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Jersey Village

This place does not like to serve everyone equally. I’m African American and My husband is Indian.

I stopped in this restaurant to order food while my husband visited his friend next door to the restaurant. I ordered the food to go at first but when my husband returned with me after 15 minutes and we decided to dine in (which we informed the hostess once we both returned together). The food wasn’t ready when we walked in so the hostess went to the back to get the order.

She came to the booth where we were sitting, threw the food on the table and walked off. I didn’t think anything of it I thought perhaps she was just busy. We pull our food (which we told her was for dine in after we came in) out of the bag and discovered we didn’t have any napkins or silverware to eat. There’s two Asian waitresses literally staring at us non stop while we eat.

Not once did they ask if we would like silverware, napkins, or beverages. After 5 minutes of continuous stares and we finish our egg rolls I asked them if there was a problem with us dining in. The male waiter smiled and said no. My husband asked for silverware and napkins and told the waiter that we asked to eat in. He said thw hostess never told them (okay that’s fine, but it’s pretty obvious that we decided to eat in).

He brings back the napkins and silverware and proceeds to serve other tables around us. I over hear him playing with kids and laughing joking and interacting with the other two families inside the restaurant (that just so happen to be white). Another 5 minutes past still no drinks. My husband asked why we were never offered plates, napkins, or silverware, nor water. The waiter just says I don’t know I don’t know. He brings water after he served the other tables everything. Though we were treated poorly I still tipped to demonstrate that we’re not on that level of ignorance.

I have never felt treated more poorly and negligently by a restaurant I spend my money at. I will not be returning to eat here and hope that no one else of my ethnicity has to endure such...

I tried the all you can eat adult buffet for $29.95. Big mistake. The food there is terrible. I wanted to try variety of things which is why I got the buffet. However I could only make it through about 4 selections. I had some type of egg drop soup, barbecue beef, chicken wings, and seafood fried rice. The seafood fried rice smelled terrible. It smelled as if the rice was cooked in water with fish guts in it. The barbecue beef was actually pretty good tasting.., I guess it was the highlight of the meal. The chicken wings were deplorable. They were fried too hard, there was no flavor at all, and the type of chicken they used had thick tendons in it. For all I know it could have been buzzard meat. The all you can eat buffet price does include all you can drink domestic beer but even that will not take away the nasty flavors of the food. My son had the orange chicken and rice and got sick when we got home. It was not from food poisoning but it tasted so disgusting he had a bad stomach ache for a couple hours. I had to lay down for a couple of hours myself because my stomach was bothering me too. I wouldn't go back there if you held a gun to my head! Even though the waitress was pleasant and did a good job I believe that you should avoid...

An overall average experience. As a family, we did the buffet and were ultimately disappointed mainly because the flavors of the food just average. the food came out warm just not delicious. When you compare what you're paying in price for the buffet, it doesn't compared to other Asian buffets around the area like Kumo Sushi or Sumo Sushi AYCE.

The sashimi was frozen when it was brought out so that ruined the experience of that selection. Some of the dishes needed more salt. Again the flavors were really bland.

I am not planning on going there again, and if somebody asked me about it, I would give them this honest review. There are more delicious Asian buffets around the area. However, it’s a below average experience thus the 2 star review. We find the staff friendly and attentive. the sushi maker/roller was very fast at his job. However, the kitchen did take a little bit of time on some dishes, a little bit longer than anticipated.
