DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO GET MISTREATED, YOU WILL REGRET IT. READ BELOW: READ OTHER’s REVIEWS AS WELL AND YOU’LL UNDERSTAND THIS IS A SAD, EMPTY, UNWELCOMING PLACE.
I am currently sitting here at the restaurant on Father’s Day and thank you for ruining my dad’s day. When we first walked in, the place was empty with no customers at all but the owners who were painting the walls, construction ladder against the wall, paint on the floor and some of the tables all this during working hours, this is at 6:30 pm. When we sat down, they kept on working making loud noises to a point where I had to ask them if they could please put some music on.
We ordered Chicken Vindaloo and Lamb Madres with a Garlic naan order, the lady asked if we eat spicy food as the vindaloo is spicy and we said yes as all we eat is spicy food at home and have been eating Indian food for years, even though I’m East African I literally grew up with Indian food.
We told them that the Vindaloo was very very spicy, all you could taste is heat and not even one bit of flavor and the lady serving us called the chef/owner so he could speak to us. Mind you, we were the only customers at that store, look at videos and pictures provided, he came out storming out the back and guess why he’s beautiful customer service was, Rude, not understanding as we told him this is too spicy and we’ve never had this kind of chicken vindaloo. He goes on to tell me that each restaurants have their different flavors and this is theirs. To quote everything he said: “ I’ve been doing this for 12 years and this is how it is”. We were the only customers there and in no way did he want to fix our situation or help it make it easier as a business owner.
I then told him, “ Sir, thank you for your amazing customer service if this is how you treat your customers”, he then aggressively turns around and tells me, “ then what do you want me to do” and walks away without even caring. We sat there for about 35 mins total and after this encounter we had to pay and walk out and this was unbelievable. To be the only customers and to treat us like, Wow is all I can say. They were super proud of how they handled the situation and were happy to see unsatisfied customers and we now know why we were the only customers there. Thank you for your amazing customer service, you should be proud, NOT REALLY. Keith Lee will be super happy, sending him all the videos from the encounter as you didn’t know I...
Read moreAbsolutely fabulous authentic Indian Cuisine, this is truly one of Houston's diamonds, not only is the food great, the the staff is wonderful and the restaurant itself is very clean. The tables are well spaced and during COVID they make sure to allow space for everyone's safety plus they wear masks and the cooks wear masks and gloves.
During this visit, I ordered the Cauliflower Manchurian which was very well made, honestly you could hardly tell it was Cauliflower, it was so delicious, reminded me of curry chicken nuggets but it was Cauliflower!
I also ordered 2 Naan which were perfectly cooked, not burnet, well buttered, and very tasty, this is one thing I find lots of Houston Indian restaurants find hard since most of them I have tried in the past were burned in many places, but not here, the Naan was perfectly cooked.
I also ordered Salmon Dill Tikka Curry (Medium spice) for my main dish, there was soo much food with the dish and the rice, it was enough to probably make at least 2 full plates or so, personally it filled me up and I even brought home leftovers.
On the to-go side, I also ordered Shrimp Korma (Mild spice) and Vegetable Samosa, both of which were delicious!
You can order with as little or as much spice (heat) that you want, I end up generally only ordering Mild when I eat at Indian or Middle Eastern restaurants, because sometimes the spice can be too much, but not in this case, the spice complimented the meal very well.
This is a highly recommended restaurant by me, I ordered ala-cart, didn't do the buffet, but during COVID if you wish to go try there Buffet itself, they have it on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11AM - 2PM CST, then they close until 4PM when they re-open for dinner, there is no dinner buffet.
If you are craving authentic Indian Cuisine, give Tandoorish Indian Cuisine a go! They will...
Read moreI was in the mood for fried fish Indian style or African style.
The African restaurant was filled because of Mother’s Day. Plus, they didn’t have the fish I had that a neighbor of mine had cooked.
Went with Tandoorish.
Sweet people! 5
The food is homemade fresh while you wait. You can hear them cooking. The fried fish was a 3 and rice were a 2. I’m used to a different style of fish curry. The fish curry a 3.
You may like it and give it a higher rating. It wasn’t my style.
Weird part: I only wanted 1/2 tandoori chicken, but they cooked me the entire chicken. They said it is “yummy yummy” so I will want more. LOL! Well, they were absolutely correct! I took that tandoori chicken home. My family loved it! I gave the tandoor chicken 4!
But I give them a zero for cooking the whole chicken that I was taking home. I didnt order the whole chicken. They charged me for the entire chicken. Hmmmm. My friends said that may have been a sales method. Because I was the only customer in there. hahahahaha
Prices are $17.99 for a la carte for each entre I bought. So total came out to $48.
Will come back for Buffet to check it out on a weekday just to see. I’m sure it will be awesome 😎. But I most likely will not come back to eat because the food wasn’t that tasty. Except the tandoori chicken. Yum yum.
Plus, my friends said it wasn’t nice that they sold me a whole chicken. Without asking or telling me in advance if I wanted a whole chicken, they put it on my bill.
Oh well. I kinda have to say I was disappointed that happened. My friends said that I’m too nice & didn’t notice the sales job. hahahahaha
I did dine in & take...
