New review: 6 years ago I came here. Finally walked back in this shop even though I live nearby. Hours and days have changed. New owners perhaps but the owner was very welcoming and attentive. Still one of the only spots Northside that has cold cuts banh mi. Drinks are spot on too. Chill spot.

Old review: Place just recently opened and needs slight improvements. Banh mi isn't warm or crispy on the outside (bad); but its inside is soft (good). Decor is clean, modern and hippy. Menu isn't fully established (1/4 of what's provided) until the end of April, presumably. Sweet green tea is awesome though.. I think they use Jasmine. Snooping their kitchen staff behind the barn door looks full fledged but seems like their operation isn't efficient because it took some time to get our order. This takes time to perfect, so I'll give it a go a few more times and change my review accordingly.

Edit: They fixed their baguette....

Banh Mi ETC is a solid go-to for Vietnamese comfort food in Houston, especially if you're looking for something quick, flavorful, and reasonably priced during the workday. There's plenty of free parking in the shared lot, which makes stopping by super convenient.

Inside, the space is clean with ample seating, making it easy to dine in without feeling cramped. My usual order is the Grilled Chicken Rice Plate--tender, well-seasoned chicken served with pickled carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, green onions, and a perfectly runny egg. Add a splash of the fish sauce on top, and you've got a satisfying, well-balanced meal for just $12.65.

They've got a wide menu with everything from banh mi sandwiches and vermicelli bowls to bubble tea, so there's something for everyone. Service is generally fast and efficient, making it a great lunch option if you're in the area. Would definitely recommend for a...

Edit: had to completely change the review and will not be going back to this place! First off the wait during lunch is ridiculous, the little girl running the checkout and running order is flustered, has some kind of hearing issue and can hardly run lunch service lastly and the worst part is I clearly saw them give my order to a customer. He came back to return it cause it wasn't his and all they did was wrap it, bag it and give it to me. Disgusting, he probably picked through it to see if it was his. I threw it away. Will not be coming back. Edit #2) idk why I keep giving these guys a chance. Everytime I come to pickup my order it's never ready when they say it is. They have staffing issues and the kids they have working for them are pretty dumb. My rice plate had the container for fish sauce, but no fish sauce in it. The pickled vegetable was all lettuce. No cucumber... never...

I ordered the pork vermicelli, hold the onions (I have severe allergies and you can actually see them in the picture I included). It came with onions; literally, the only special thing I asked for. There was a lot of pork, but hardly any noodles. It was also missing bean sprouts - when I asked, they told me they were out. It comes with spring rolls - no option for it without due to the small menu size (it seems they specialize in Vietnamese Subs). The food quality was fair, just shy of being good. Despite the fact that I can walk to this location, I will look further afield for a place that focuses on quality and customer service. Finally, I had (tap) water to drink and was pretty shocked when they handed it to me in a big Styrofoam cup. To me, that says both "we don't care about the environment" and "we do whatever is cheapest to maximize profit" - I'm not big fans of either attitude.

Tucked into a strip mall by West and Hwy 8, this new modern Vietnamese restaurant has a modern and cool vibe and their food is delicious! Stopped by during a weekday for lunch. Was greeted by friendly employees at counter, a pretty filled restaurant and a large menu. Went for the grilled pork vermicelli bowl to go. Very fast service, under 14 minutes, didn't count exactly. The pork tasted like it was char grilled minutes earlier. Everything was a perfect balance of sauce, protein and veggies. Co workers all mentioned how good it smells. Loved that you get a full fried egg roll too. Definitely coming back!
