The Connection Coffee + Creamery — Restaurant in Jesup

I hate leaving this review, because up until now the Connection was really good and definitely a treat. I went there this morning after not going for awhile (I used to go all the time, the one woman maybe owner or gm would even remember my order, large decaf mocha frappe no whip no drizzle skim milk). I ordered the same thing I always do. I have heart problems so I CANNOT have caffeine. Usually when I go out and order coffee I take a lot of extra steps to make sure it's decaf like asking if I said decaf when I'm ordering even though I know I did just to reiterate and when I pick up the drink I ask if it was decaf. This morning was no different, and the girl assured me it was several times. It was not. I noticed she poured from a pitcher instead of making a decaf shot like usual. But like I said I hadn't been in awhile so I didn't know if they changed how they did things. I got the coffee at 6:30 and finished it around 7-7:30. All day I felt like I was dying. My heart rate never went below 100 (just resting) and I ended up having to leave work early, and I kept thinking I should probably go to the hospital. My heart feels like a heavily pulsating bowling ball. I ended up calling the Connection around 3 asking if they had changed how they made decaf frappes. Do they still do a decaf shot or do they pour from a pitcher? The person that answered said no they still use a decaf shot and the pitcher is for regular frappes. Well I found out why I feel like I'm dying. It's 6:15 now and I'm still feeling the effects 100%. Don't hire a person to work at a coffee shop if they don't know what decaf is. Whats even worse is the girl assured me several times it was. She could literally kill someone. I'm wondering how many others she has served fully caffeinated drinks to. I guess at this point I'm hoping I can just sleep this off, because within the past month I've been to the hospital twice because of my heart and I really don't want to go again. People that ask for decaf have a reason, and it can be life threatening. It needs to be taken seriously. I don't think this is the job this girl needs. I want her to see this, feel horrible and know what she did to someone. All this was not worth a frappe. I will not be back, and after this I don't think I'll get coffee out anywhere, because you can't trust someone...

Well the old coffee place is out and there is new owners now. The menu has changed a lot now. Our old favorites are no longer there and they don't serve breakfast now and it was good food. I would come to the old place just for breakfast and coffee from Ludowici because we loved it so much plus the drive-through is just for call-ahead orders, what a joke, when we went inside the few people we saw sitting down did not look too happy like we used to see it inside. The girls behind the counter did not look happy or friendly and when I asked what happened to the old place they just said new owners. All I have to say is good luck and God speed to the new owners this place is nothing like the old that's for sure and we will not be returning. We were staying with parents about 10 miles fromJesup and I checked for best breakfast in Jesup. The menu was not large but I was very impressed with their bacon and egg sandwich. They made it exactly as I requested with extra mayo and a thin sliver of onion on it!!! It was a perfect breakfast. My wife got the BLT also with extra mayo and she said it was perfect. She also had a chocolate latte which was perfect.

The only negative was that They had sold out of the famous Sugar and Spice donuts which happens every day. That was a bummer but the donuts are that good! We should have gone to the Sugar and Spice location a couple of blocks away but they usually sell out by 10:30 and we couldn’t get...
