Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Johnson City

Ok so my husband and I went there with my Father In Law for Thanksgiving 2023. It was unbelievable and very packed with people who know that Golden Coral always has the best and most yummiest food for a buffet style restaurant. Even though it was packed and there was literally a long line going outside of the building they were still getting people in to eat and enjoy their Thanksgiving with their family and friends. The food was unbelievably yummy and hot and fresh and they had so many choices of yummy food to choose from!!! And we didn't feel rushed to eat and get out...We actually sat down and enjoyed our food. Which was amazing. The poor servers were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I felt bad for them because they looked so tired... And yes my husband and I and my father in law left our server a good tip. :) No matter when we go to Golden Coral they always have such hot and yummy food just waiting for us to dig in!! Yes it may be a little expensive to eat at, but honestly you are more than definitely getting your money's worth!! If I could I would go there at least once a week..but whenever we do go there it's always a treat to us. If you want to go somewhere and be able to sit down and eat some very yummy and hot and delicious food then head to Golden Coral...even if you have a huge family you will not leave hungry!! And they can fit everyone of your family members...

I'm a big fan of Golden Corral but today, I was very disappointed with the Golden Corral in Johnson City, Tennessee. I never write bad reviews but I really want this restaurant to improve. Yes, it's Christmas day and they were busy but not so busy that they had to seat us at a table where I had to sit in the isle because there wasn't enough room to sit across from or next to my husband at the table. My husband's chair was actually sitting in the drink station where the waitresses were getting drinks for refills. It's a good thing there was only the two of us because another person would have been sitting directly in front of the tea dispenser. All I had to look at while eating my meal was the mess and filthy, filthy fire extinguisher and equipment at the drink station. Not at all what I expected for a Christmas meal. I did notice they replaced the carpet, but that place is in desperate need of a good cleaning, restrooms and all. When we were taken to our table, there was food and drink all over the chairs. The hostess ignored that and walked away. I got some napkins and cleaned the chairs myself so we could sit down. The people next to us were very upset because they were having a difficult time getting in and out of their chairs even though we were not sitting on that side of the table. I was so grossed out by my experience that I probably won't return. I'm being gracious...

So let me tell you about our experience with Golden Corral in Johnson City. First of all i called and made reservations for my grandsons birthday dinner. We scheduled it for 330. There was a party before us. They were supposed to be gone by 3. They didnt leave til 330. We were supposed to get in the party room at 330. We did not. They were late letting us in. We finally get in the party room. Employees came in and sat down laughing and carrying on. Mind you the room is reserved. They had to be told by a manager or it could have just been another employee to leave the room. People kept coming in trying to sit in there. Again keep in mind it was reserved. 2 of my grandchildren , one who is only 2 found a pill in the floor. When the manager was informed it was pretty much blamed on us. They said we rushed them to get in the room. Um excuse me, we had it reserved at 330 and didnt even get in there on time. If you had done your job and had the other party out when they were supposed to and cleaned properly this would not have happened. My daughter in law was told its just an aleve like its no big deal. Yes it is a big deal. What if my 2 year old grandson would have got it in his mouth or one of the 4 year olds or 7 year old would have. This is unacceptable. We will no longer be going to Golden Corral. We had a good dinner but the actions and rudeness of Golden Corral...
