To Whom it may concern: I have visited your establishment in Johnson City, Tn on three separate occasions. My first visit was mediocre at best. The hostess desk was so poorly managed that they had no idea of what tables were taken or who was even working any section. Finally after receiving our long awaited food we discovered that is was cold. I thoroughly realize what it is like in starting a business and all nuance that it requires. My several years as a Macy's Executive manager has taught me to be understanding and to show compassion for those who did not receive the adequate training that they most certainly lacked in so that they not could do their job with excellence. With knowing that it is not the best practice of a customer to decide the fate of returning or not based upon one experience, my wife and I decided to take a young couple and their two small children in to experience something new in Johnson City, Tn. Again, the hostess desk was even more rude than the first time I encountered them, I though we all have our good days and bad, so let's give them the benefit of the doubt. After waiting an hour for our food, the pizza was half burnt, but sent to the table anyway and the waitress who also said she was a manager said they would cook another 1/2 to replace the burn half. Mind you, NONE of the pizza was edible. I politely told the waitress that I was not paying for a full pizza since they could not deliver good on the whole! They removed the cost of the burnt pizza off of our order as I had to request another manager to make the wrong right. Today I decided to give a third and final attempt to see if this establishment was worthy of my hard earned money. I had called ahead and told them we needed a table to seat 12 including a baby for a sling and a toddler for a baby chair and they politely said that they would have it available for us. I was excited at the tone of the turn around. Upon revival, it seemed rudeness at the front desk was even more ugly than it had appeared the first two time of mu visit. I was told that they did not have regular tables set up, but only had high tables. Since many in my party was not able to accustom to the height of the table due to their stature, I let the front desk know of my deli ma and wondered if they could scoot a few short tables together so we could all sit together. They replied that they could do that. After a 15 minute wait, someone from the hostess bar came to me and said that they would be charging us a 18% gratuity for us to eat together! I told them money is NOT an option for us and we are glad to pay an even higher gratuity, but would only pay a gratuity that was worked for and not for gratuity that we have not received as of yet. The manager was called and he explained that it was their policy to charge 18% gratuity. So I told him the same thing as I told the Hostess. After waiting patiently for his prideful remarks to me , I told him, "so you are saying that you do not want our business"? His reply was, "Sir we do well without you!" Needless to say I was appalled beyond words. I told him that I would NEVER be back to this establishment and I would do my best to discourage others from coming. When I take folks to a restaurant, it is a complete reflection of me and my wife just as if we would serve in our own home. We eagerly took our business elsewhere where we spent to the tune of approximately $400 plus a very generous tip at Cheddars. I highly encourage that this store go through a complete re-evaluation of what Customer service is, properly cooked food and and management staff who actually know how to manage rather than play a part that they have no idea at what they are doing. I managed for many years and excellence was my expectation and still is so even when I am a customer elsewhere. I look forward to your reply as soon as you are able. Please know that I am pasting this letter to the corporate office, the Johnson City, TN restaurant and of...
Read moreVery disappointed with the service here. I ordered a steak with cheese fries for a side and fried pickles and a salad as an appetizer. Which I specified I wanted out first. The server proceeded to bring us a cheese fry appetizer and fried pickles with no salad. I told them I wanted cheese fries with my food not as an appetizer and I wanted to be sure I wasnt charged for what I didnt order. A few minutes went by and they brought out our food with my salad. They served me loaded potatoes with my meal. I reminded them that wasnt what I ordered. The manager came over and informed me that chesse fries were not a side option and I would not be able to get loaded fries as a side even tho loaded mashed potatoes are an option. I told her I could like my salad taken off because I asked for it to come out first when she cut me off to tell me I would have had to order it and specify that I wanted it out first, which I did purposefully. We ended up keeping the appetizer because apparently we were unable to have that as a side and were forced to pay full price for the appetizer. I proceeded to eat the steak and was shocked at how completley flavorless it was. I got extra seasoning brought out and even had mushrooms added and the steak was still terrible. I left more than half of it as it was burnt on one side and it was supposed to be a rare. When they brought me the check we split they had charged me $27 for what I received. I only ate a few bites of steak, some cheese fries and some pickles. I told the server the issue with my steak and that I didnt feel it was fair to pay so much for food I didnt even eat. The manager Laura then came back over and told me that since I hadn't mentioned the steak at the beginning of my meal when she came by the first time that I needed to "pay my tab" like I was a deviant trying to get free food while most of it was still sitting In front of me uneaten. I was very offended by how she handled the situation. I had been so excited to check out the new restaurant in town and was told by multiple people I shouldn't go there but did anyway because I'd rather see for myself and I did. I was disgusted by how I was treated there. The manager should have been more understanding and I should have been informed at the beginning of the meal that I was not allowed to order cheese fries as a side and told that I would be forced to buy a $10 appetizer instead. Needless to say I will not be back anytime soon. I feel ripped off and belittled. I had such high expectations and they were shot down. A good friend was trying to rake me out for my Birthday and I refused to even let him pay because of how bad the entire...
Read moreAbsolutely perfect in every way. First time going and most definitely won't be the last. To start off, the place was slammed on a Thursday night. That being said, there was NO WAIT for our group of three. We pulled in and were worried because the parking lot was packed! We walked in and were greated by very friendly staff and immediately seated at a high 4 top table. Within about 10 seconds of our host seating us, our waitress was there introducing herself and getting our drink orders. One of the first things she said was we pride ourselves on fast service and she wasn't kidding. The waitress was very knowledgeable when it came to the menu and different food and drink options and was able to quickly and accurately answer any questions we had. We got our drinks in about 3-5 minutes and the waitress was ready to take our appetizer order. For our appetizer, we ordered the firecracker shrimp. By the name of it, you'd think it would be very spicy. This was not the case. The crispy shrimp were dressed with an Asian sauce with a unique but very tasty flavor served over a bed of shredded lettuce. They arrived at the table in about 7 minutes steaming hot. They had the perfect amount of mild kick and the portion was very good with what I would estimate to be 20-25 good sized shrimp at a price of $9.29. They have a very impressive tap beer and cocktail menu and their prices are extremely reasonable. They had the Peach Palmer on special for $5. It came served on the rocks in a normal sized cocktail glass with a lemon wedge on the rim. The flavor was amazing and perfectly mixed. Another person in my party got the strawberry mango bucket and it was amazing as well, especially for the size and only being $9. Our food order arrived insanely fast within about 10 minutes or so of us ordering. All of the food tasted amazing and the portion sizes were great and priced appropriately. First impressions are everything in the restaurant business and we were throughly impressed and had an excellent experience. The service was the best and quickest service I've received at a restaurant in a very long time. There were TVs EVERYWHERE with all kinds of different sports on. The only minor "flaw" if you could even consider it that, was the restaurant was very very loud and it was kind of hard to hear our waitress and have a conversation with others at the table. This is to be expected for a place with the sports bar vibe like this though, so you can't really complain about it too much and it didn't bother us much anyway. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. You won't be...
