It's a pity this place has a great vibe and quality baked goods because their customer service is lacking and their safety practices are nonexistent.
We were pleased the first time we visited. We sat down that time and enjoyed our food in an art gallery adjacent to the shop. But this Saturday was different. My husband stopped by to pick up a box of pastries and coffee to go. When he proceeded to lift his coffee cup to his lips the lid easily came off causing extremely hot coffee to spill all over the front of his shirt.
The cashier said something like "Did the lid pop off on you?" showing zero accountability and trying to deflect. No reaction at all to the customer whose entire chest and belly were just scalded by burning hot coffee. Amazing customer service, right, but more alarming was the lack of adherence to what should be a basic safety standard.
I'm surprised this hasn't happened to more customers. Make sure you double check that your coffee lid is secured properly because the cashier is too NEGLIGENT, sloppy, and busy to actually do this for you.
Maybe they should better train their staff on standard safety practices and multitasking skills? Maybe they should train their staff to take the time to properly and completely secure coffee lids? Or maybe give the customer a warning that the lid isn't securely placed? Or how about just leave the lid off entirely to not give customers the ILLUSION that it is securely placed.
This hazard could have easily been avoided. My husband now has redness, pain, and blisters on his chest and abdomen thanks to this. A business should have more awareness, caution, and care to minimize safety hazards for their customers. Shame on Lazy Lady Baking for not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered a cake to be picked up for our teenage sonās birthday. When my husband arrived at the agreed-upon time, the cake was not there, and we were told they had no record of our order. Fortunately, we had proof of the order confirmation in our email ā not an automated message, but a hand-typed confirmation from the bakery.
To place the order, I had to send two emails (neither received any response) before finally making a phone call. I then received both verbal and email confirmation. After failing to fulfill the order and showing our order confirmation, we were offered the option to pick up the cake more than four hours later, with a 10% discount and a free coffee and pastry. (this was not practical for our situation) The owner was not there that day, so we reached out via email the same day and have not received any response, apology, or accountability now 5 days later.
We found the discount offer frankly insulting, as it did not show any real consideration for the inconvenience and disruption caused to our celebration. But now we know they clearly do not care, as the owner has not apologized or acknowledged the situation or reached out in any way.
While we had one previous cake order that went smoothly and was easily ordered via email, the difficulty we experienced securing this order, the failure to fulfill it, the inadequate attempt to correct the error, and the total lack of acknowledgement or accountability are simply unacceptable for a business that people trust for celebrations and milestone events.
So take caution when trusting them to come through for a special moment for a loved one, and donāt expect them to care at all if they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this a zero, I would. The only reason I am not is because I got a full refund and the barista was kind and polite. Baker gets a negative star. My cakes were as follows: A) The flavors were incorrect. I ordered a strawberry cake with lemon filling for one and a lemon cake with raspberry filling for the other, and I received plain vanilla with lemon and plain vanilla. Could not have been more wrong. B) Way too overcooked. They were very dry, and you could feel the crust in each layer, whereas typical they are sliced off to prevent this. C) The colors were switched from how I ordered them, which is trivial I suppose, but adds to my dissatisfaction. D) The smaller cake was stacked unevenly. Imagine the Leaning Tower of Pisa. E) The baker did not even come out to speak to us when we said the cakes were wrong, which I thought was incredibly rude, even a simple apology would have went a long way. F) Pick-up was agreed upon to be 11:00. My mother-in-law arrived past 11, and the cakes were not finished. She was told that they would be done in 20 minutes. They come back 20 minutes later, and they STILL were not finished.
All in all, the only thing I am pleased about is the fact I got a return. I will never come back, and I will tell this story to everyone I know who is looking for a baker for their wedding cake.
TLDR- extremely disappointed...
