I don’t have photos because we ate it all so fast! For my coworkers, this has become more and more regular being that we’re .5 miles away! For me, today was a first. I’ve had the tortilla chips when my boss was so gracious to share them with me (let me tell you, I wouldn’t share these easily).
I am a picky eater. This is important because I won’t eat food that onions have touched. Sometimes that stuff gets missed when I order online or to go. Nope. Not today. We ordered online. I was nervous. But EVERYTHING we ordered, $60 worth, was PERFECT. We fed four people.
My boss ordered chicken street tacos, just the way they come and she, and I quote, said “these are better than carne asada.” DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO MAKE A GOOD CHICKEN STREET TACO?! The maintenance supervisor got a chicken quesadilla, just the way it comes. He raved. Loved it. I got a chicken quesadilla with no peppers or onions, it was delicious. I mean it’s hard to mess up a quesadilla, but I can’t say enough about how good it was! My coworker got chorizo street tacos, with the hottest sauce they have! He said it was perfect. We got chips and queso as well and as I mentioned before, they have yet to disappoint me or any of my coworkers. They have two desserts but Julia’s sweet was sold out. I will be going back for that. We got churros. 8 of them. Lol. We thought you got two in an order.. you get four. We all had two! The only thing left after our meal was two pieces of my quesadilla! We loved it! 10/10, recommend! I will be telling all of my friends… well I have already started. It’s SO...
Read moreMy wife, daughter, and I were in town for a dance competition and decided to try this place out based on the excellent reviews. We tried the Al Pastor Tacos, Birria Tacos, Guacamole and Chips, and Asada Fries. The Al Pastor Tacos were the best my wife had tasted since our time in Panama when we often ate at a restaurant that would slice the pork and pineapple off a spit. She's been searching for anything close for a few years and finally found a solid match. The guacamole was homemade excellence with homemade chips as well. Excellent flavor and texture to both. The Birria Tacos were enjoyed by my daughter who shared a bite of the beef with me that was great and made me wish I'd had that meat on the fries. I had the Asada Fries which were great. The french fries were cooked well with a bit of crispness on the outside and the toppings were tasty and went well together. The Asada was really good, but that Birria would have made the dish just a bit better.
A truly great gem that could use a larger space and more conspicuous location to bring in...
Read moreAte at the Johnston restaurant. Nothing was seasoned well. Chicken had no salt. Chorizo was decent. Steak was about 50% where it should be. Beans were very over salted, needed cumin, onion, and lime. Rice was bland, even with salsa.
Salsas included are red and green typical of taco trucks. They were very watery and not seasoned. Tacos have a single tortilla, which are storebought. They were not filled generously. Only one small lime wedge and no sides or accoutrements like grilled onion inculded. One radish slice.
The establishment is tiny. There was a table 2 feet from the counter. It felt very cramped ordering, and I'd not want to eat inside.
$20 for 3 tacos with rice and beans. The value is not there. The price is higher than full service restaurants, yet the dining room and food preparation do not...
