Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Johnston

Last week we had the absolute worst experience at your Johnston, RI store on Atwood Ave. I have ordered here plenty of times with small issues here and there but this was absolute absurdity. We placed our pickup order on our way home from a roadtrip at 11:30 am on a Saturday. We arrived around 11:45 (which was when we were told the food would be ready). My husband asked about the food and was told "they were just waiting on two subs" which is a ridiculous response from people who are making the subs. There were only two people working and they proceeded to serve approximately 10 walk-in customers quickly before only finishing our sandwiches when we asked again why it was taking so long. We didn't leave the restaurant until approximately 12:10, which is almost a half hour after we were told the food would be ready. The restaurant was also a dirty disaster in the back room. Lettuce and tomatoes all over the floor, as well as garbage. I had my two year old son in the car who was crying the whole time. I recently visited Jersey Mike's at the Atwood Avenue store in Johnston, Rhode Island, and my experience was very disappointing. It seems like a good time to remind your employees about the importance of changing their gloves to avoid cross-contamination. I saw an employee make a sandwich, handle cash, wipe down the counter, and then proceed to make my veggie sandwich without changing gloves. They even came back from the back holding green peppers with the same gloves.

The lack of proper hygiene was alarming. The sandwich was so disgusting that I threw it away before I even left the restaurant. The only reason I paid for it was because the food is made to order, so I just had the employee wrap it up. Lesson learned, onto the next place. This issue needs immediate attention to ensure customer safety and proper sanitation standards...

We got takeout. Sandwiches were delicious. Food is always fresh. Have been several times and will go back again. This was a good experience, but that's changed.

September 2024 - Went to get sandwiches for lunch. Got the grilled portabella mushroom sandwich, which I have had many times. Really disappointed. Either the sandwich has changed or the person who prepared it didn't know what they were doing. Bread was smaller and a different kind. Mushrooms used to be the big ones and covered the entire bread. This sandwich today had small mushrooms. Peppers were different. Many areas of the bread were exposed. Not enough mushrooms to call it a mushroom sandwich. Not worth what I paid for it. Won't get it again. Used to be so big that I couldn't eat it all at once. Ate it all today. Really...
