For Christmas dinner, my family decided we were going to enjoy our meal at Wong’s Chopsticks. We set up a reservation for our party of 8 a few days in advance, and we were ready come Christmas evening. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation, but the table was ready for the 8 of us. Place was packed and Carry Out orders were flying out the door. We were obviously not the only ones to hatch this brilliant plan. We were seated immediately and given waters and menus. Due to how swamped they were, it took quite a while for our orders to be taken and for the food to start coming out. This was the only negative of our experience that evening, and that was completely understandable. However, once the restaurant started to empty of other patrons, food started to come out very quickly. Once food started to come out, it was hot and delicious. The steamed dumplings were a marvel, the satay beef was so tender it nearly melted in your mouth, and the fantail shrimp was hot and crunchy. The egg drop soup and hot n sour soup was a perfect note on a chilly day. Crab Rangoons and egg rolls barely touched the table before we demolished them. When we arrived, we were all starving for sustenance. As wave after wave of food arrived, our hunger began to disappear and we quickly realized we might have possibly ordered more food than necessary. A plate of donuts arrived to the table and despite being sweet and fluffy, they didn’t fly off the table like its predecessors. This is the point in the meal where everyone was more relaxed. Our hunger was at bay, and family was complimenting the food we had eaten. Some remarked they were full. Then our actual entrees arrived. Hot, steaming, smelling fantastic. My parents had a look of defeat in their eyes as they immediately had to request a to go box before attempting a bite of their main dish. They had been bested. Three bowls of rice were placed on the table. More to go boxes were requested. Finally, the server came to our table with one last plate of food. My party was puzzled, we’d received everything we ordered. A mistake must have been made. It was a plate of cinnamon rolls, a special dessert for Christmas. A complete surprise, and we pushed our stomachs even further to enjoy the thoughtful treat. The cinnamon roll I ate was all the more sweet from the kind gesture by which it was given. Our meal was now complete. Many boxes were full of food, remarks about stomach capacity were made and Christmas greetings were shared. I’ve always loved eating at Wong’s Chopsticks, and this was another wonderful experience. Amazing food, a welcome atmosphere, and great service. 10/10, would enjoy a holiday meal here again.
I didn’t take many pictures, but there’s one of my dad so full he cannot look at his combination egg foo young, and a family picture. Notice our many boxes of food to go. For a party of 8, with 6 appetizers and 8 dinner specials, we paid $205. Not...
Read moreSummary: One of my favorite Chinese restaurants ever.
I've been here for both lunch and dinner within the last two months and both experiences were amazing. I've been to a LOT of Chinese restaurants over the years in numerous states, and this is on my top 5 list. It is a family owned, local business, so expect a casual atmosphere.
Here are the highlights from my visits:
Quality of food is top notch Quantity of food is very generous Value is unbeatable for the quality and quantity of food Service is excellent; I never had an empty glass of water The chef took the time to personally come out and make sure our food was prepared to our liking
I haven't ordered take out from here but on a Friday night while having dinner I did observe many people call and order, as well as come in to pick-up orders. Nothing out of the ordinary like I've read from other reviews, and certainly very professional behavior from the staff.
Highly...
Read moreHaving lived in a lot of big cities including Los Angeles and Dallas I've had a lot of Dim Sum, and I gotta say it's pretty rare to find one this good that makes their food by hand. Everything we've tried here is delicious, and the price is so reasonable for the amount of food that my husband and I came here for our fifth anniversary.
The fried dumplings are filled with hand chopped meat and so flavorful. The shrimp dumplings with chive are delicious. I'm pretty sure my husband could eat 100 char siu baozi and never get sick of them. Everything they make has a lot of care put into it, and as someone whose has made a lot of these dishes growing up myself I can tell you they require skill and knowledge to get right. This is why a lot of places just use frozen premade foods reheated in the steamers.
The restaurant itself doesn't look the nicest, but look past that and give it a try when they're serving dim sum and you...
