Azul was recommended to us by a friend. We had the steak tacos and had to try their Cochinta Pibil tacos. Their steak tacos had great flavor, with a nice selection of salsas. Their Cochinta Pibil tacos are a must try! Their Cochinta recipe is over 100 yrs old and has been handed down to the owner. It definitely shows in its unique and distinctive flavor topped with a traditional pickled red onion with a touch of habanero. So good!!! They have a small menu, but it's about quality and not quantity. The drinks were great, and the service and hospitality from the owners was very good. You can tell they take pride in their dishes. We'll definitely be back again for their authentic Cochinta tacos, and look forward to trying their other menu items.

First off let me say I just tried this place last week and have already been here 3 times within the first week! The steak they make is amazing, super tasty and good quality!! I have tried the steak tacos, the steak and shrimp tacos, steak burrito and also the chicken taquitos! Everything I have tried is amazing and the guacamole is the best I have had! Service is amazing and I love the cleanliness of the restaurant! I will be back soon to try more things!! I am super picky with steak tacos, and this place is by far the best around!! No cheap meat here!! Can't wait to try more things!!

We found this place during the Spirits with the Spirits event in downtown Joliet during Halloween week and couldn’t wait to go back! The margaritas are great (chamoy and tajin rim - yessss), the steak and shrimp tacos are out of this world, the chips and guacamole are freshly made. The owners are very welcoming and kind. I know there are a hundred authentic Mexican places in Joliet to choose from, but this one is really something special.

We came to joliet for family and business and thought we would try a new restaurant for dinner. The service was slow (only one server on Friday night) there was only 3 tables all night and we didn’t get a our main course until 1hr 2 mins later. food was ok, we ordered cochinita pibil….the marinade sauce that’s a true Mexican cuisine was sub par at best, it tasted like it was out of a jar nothing like true authentic Mexican recipe. The hamburger was ok nothing special. We ordered mixed drinks and when you pay $10 per drink you expect something good or great, drinks lacked tequila and nothing exceptional about them. When we went to pay there was no prior notice that there would be a 9% charge for using a credit card. When we asked we were told that everyone is doing it and that they don’t control what the credit card charges. Not true I know it’s just a 3% charge for the business.

I cannt really see how this restaurant has such great reviews I doubt there authentic like there sauce. First time there but definite the last one…there’s to many other places to go where your evening...

Food was great. We had the potato taquitos for an appetizer, and our entrees were the steak and shrimp tacos and a shrimp burrito. All very good, the different salsas complemented what they came with very well, and portions were filling.

Service was a little slow. We were seated at the bar, but we had to flag down our waitperson to put in our entree orders and then later to get the check. It seemed like there were only two people on the floor that night, and there was a bit of a crowd due to the Rialto, so I'll chalk it up to that. Very friendly staff when we were working with them.

It looks very nice in here. Intimate lighting, laid-back tables, spacious.

My only real gripe with this place is that it's cash only. I almost never carry cash, and having to pay an ATM fee is my least favorite way to spend a few dollars.

I'm excited for this place! Great fit for downtown. Will...

Customer service was horrible, no one ever greeted us upon standing there for a while. Seated ourselves only to be told we have to move ok no problem. We waited 20+ minutes after that before we were even approached. We had to ask several times for just water that took even longer than that to receive. Next the food was cold and not made correctly, when I let whomever the server/owner guy know it wasn’t what I ordered he immediately had an attitude and kept asking me so your not going to eat it. I said why would I eat something I don’t eat and didn’t order. He was very rude to our entire table. The chicken wigs had blood inside and he advised that’s how the bone is and it was ok. We ordered appetizers we never received until we asked for the check and were leaving. Again was told we ordered it you buy it regardless how late it was brought out. It’s a BIG NO for me terrible...
