Golden Dragon — Restaurant in Joliet

Could not find menu on mobile site and it was my first time ordering. Placed an order for vegetable egg rolls. Most places give you two in an order. This place only gives you one in an order. That's fine, but it would be nice if someone confirmed that an order is only one. I called to ask about there only being one egg roll in an order and the lady told me there should have been no confusion, that it says it on the menu and they brought me a menu when my food was delivered. I don't think she understood that a menu was not available to me when I placed my order over the phone. Also placed an order for plain fried rice and chicken chop suey. First of all, I didn't want any meat in my fried rice, however I also received no vegetables in it either. Just flavored rice. And then the chicken chop suey has a flavor I have never tasted before. More tangy and unusual. The chicken is awful. Does not taste like real chicken. Something of rubbery consistency, way too chewy for me. I only ordered from here because my preferred Chinese restaurant closed at 10pm and this place was open until 11pm. I will never order from this...

Golden Dragon is our absolute go to for takeout Chinese in Joliet. Realistically it rivals any Chinese that I have had anywhere… and I have actually been to China itself! I would wager that we have never had a dish here that wasn’t the best version of the dish that we have had anywhere, and we are constantly trying new things! I mean, we love Chinese food and this is our absolute go to. They are also quick. Don’t believe the 45 minute estimate when you place an order. It will always be ready way before that! You really don’t expect to have this quality of Chinese food in a place like Joliet! And it couldn’t be more conveniently located to where we live! Realistically, this is the only Chinese location that we use anymore when we want Chinese at home! And in case it is not obvious, the only reason that I rated the atmosphere as three star is because this is purely a takeout place. There is no expectation or need for “atmosphere“ when you are just picking up something...

I just moved to Joliet last week and went to this restaurant. I told them I just moved here and they were extremely nice to me and my mother. I called in an order for pick up when I arrived 30 minutes later the food was not ready I had to wait an additional 15 - 20 minutes for my order. I ordered the small shrimp fried rice, dumplings, and shrimp egg food young. When I got home and opened my food the egg food young had green vegetables in it. It was different from the week before. I threw up everything I ate. I was sick as a dog. I went to the restaurant the next day with the left over food and told them it made me sick and I asked why the food was green she wanted to argue with me about it instead of apologizing to me for getting sick. I took a picture of the awful mess they called food. I will never go there again. The shrimp were not cleaned and fear for the health of anyone...
