I’m disappointed. My family has always looked forward to getting Joe’s hotdogs. I stop in every time I’m in the area. My dad always took my family here when we were young children. He always loved Joe’s hotdogs. I’ve had to watch the prices I’m charged on the last visit or two. Tonight, I ordered six “hot dogs” with everything except hot peppers (the same way I always have ordered Joe’s hotdogs) and a small fry. Some of the hotdogs were for my brother who’s in town from South Carolina and craved Joe’s in the past when he couldn’t have it, living in SC. I received cheese hotdogs, which consisted of a melted slice of cheese on each one, which came to an additional .20 per hotdog ($2.65 each with cheese rather than $2.45 each). I thought $19.00 was higher than I calculated for 6 hotdogs and a small fry. I thought I would just try it and not worry about the incorrectness of the order; however, after tasting it, it was not the same great Joe’s hotdogs flavor I’m used to, and NOT what I ordered. I proceeded back inside & told him I just wanted 6 hotdogs with the small fries. He proceeded to say, yeah, but you said cheese and argued with me. I simply told him, no, I ordered 6 hotdogs and I never order cheese on them. He made 6 new hotdogs and handed them to me and never once offered the $1.20 overcharge back to me. I’m quite aware of this overcharge and order error, I don’t appreciate being taken for granted as a paying and “prior” returning customer, and the food did not taste the same. I don’t...
Read moreSo I've been to this location twice. The first time I had a hot dog and cheese fries. The hot dog was pretty good, not outstanding but pretty good. Like if I was passing this place on the way somewhere I'd grab a hot dog. But I wouldn't go out of my way. The cheese fries though were delicious. The fries were a huge serving more than I could eat but the cheese sauce is what made it a hit! The second visit I had an Italian beef, dipped well with American cheese and hot peppers. The beef sandwich was a no for me. The sandwich was dipped a little but I had to pour on on au jus gravy to make it as wet as I wanted it. Also the peppers came on the side. This was all ok but I would rather not have to do any work and just eat the sandwich. But I poured on the extra gravy and peppers. Looked so yummy! However I was disappointed by the Quality of of the beef. It was Sliced thicker than I'm used to, kinda leathery. The flavor of the gravy though was delicious. I just couldn't get past the meat. With every bite I had to take some of the beef out of my mouth because it had that stringy fat..and I couldn't eat it. I eventually pulled a of the meat off and ate half the sandwich with just the peppers and cheese. I threw the other half of the...
Read moreAs far as hot dogs go, this place is among the very best. To me, it's either Portillo's or this place for the number 1 spot. But, I'll tell you a little secret. When I go to Joe's I rarely order their hot dogs as good as they are. Reason being, their polish sausage is even better. Now this is somewhat strange, because I generally think of myself as a hot dog guy. I tell you this because I really want you to at least try their polish sausage if you haven't already. From what I hear, they have their own special mix that is delivered from somewhere. All I know is I haven't had a polish sausage like it anywhere else. It is very similar to a hot dog. In fact, the first time I ordered one, I thought they gave me a hot dog by mistake. The best way I can put it, is that their polish sausage tastes like the best hot dog you...
