Richardson's Downtown Sports Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Joliet

I online ordered a burger on a Thursday during lunch and I thought it was great.

Friday evening I decided to order the exact same thing and order two burgers to take out for dinner after waiting 25 minutes in the restaurant (despite placing my order in advance) I walk out and get back to my car with the two burgers for takeout and I realize that neither one has fries included. I called the restaurant as I was already heading out of town to let them know that they didn’t give me the fries and I would just like a refund for the cost of the fries. Their menu clearly states that nine dollar burgers come with fries that was how I interpreted it and I’m sure many other people too. The restaurant owner eventually gets on the phone and tells me no the burgers do not come with fries despite me ordering the exact same online listing yesterday and receiving fries and that that was a Thursday only special Despite that not being indicated anywhere on their menu or ordering website. Owner laughed and said he would refund the cost of one fry to me only.

I'm so happy this place exists downtown, if only they were also open on Saturdays! I work downtown and it's hard to find food sometimes, no one delivers down here unless you do DoorDash or Dominos.

I've come here twice now for the burger and fries special on Thursday's after a coworker told me about it. The smash burger is really good and filling. The fries are good if you eat them right away. I tend to do carry out to eat in my office but the fries get soggy during that short travel time. You still can't beat a freshly made burger and fries for $7 and some change. I can't wait to try the Philly and the brisket at some point!

The line can get long during the lunch rush. If you don't have a lot of time, I would call ahead and order. Today I waited in line for 15-20 mins and then people who were ordering had another 20-30 min wait for food. I called ahead but I wish I walked over there immediately after, since I didn't know about the line. Hope these tips can help someone!
