My friends and family went to their new location the other day as we loved their old location so much. Their new location is definitely a lot more spacious than their old location, but I will say I wish they had changed the vibe of their location since they moved. It felt as though I was eating in the same restaurant, and I was hoping for something new. Regardless, we sat down and ordered. I typically would order the ramen, but since this was a new location, I ordered the bento box and my friend ordered her usual order, or at least tried. My friend typically likes to eat vegetarian when we go out, but they were out of the kale noodles, which was disappointing. My other friend tried to order the oxtail soup, but they were also out of that. I landed on the tonkatsu(Pork Katsu) bento box. I wish their options for the bento box allowed for more vegetables like a typical bento box, but I ordered what options I had: one dumpling, one spring roll, a side of fried rice, noodles, and of course the tonkatsu. When our food arrived, my friend was glad that this time they give you a whole egg rather than a half. My food was good, for the most part. It was very carb heavy, so I wasn't able to finish the noodles. The tonkatsu was also quite thin for typical katsu, but the crunch and the sauce paired well together. Overall, still the typical Ichiya and still enjoyable

Okay so I have never done this before but my husband and I ate at Ichiya Ramen last night. We began eating our meal and i noticed my calamari smelled heavily of ammonia so I went to take a drink of my water and noticed something moved and thank god I noticed. Inside my cup looked like someone had shredded tissue paper and watered down mashed potatoes with little white, green, and black pieces. I brought this to the attention of one of the staff and he told me it’s “because the ice machine is down.” Which makes no sense because there was ice in my cup. I told him it looks like food is floating around because the pieces were green, black, and like white wet tissue paper floating around. (Probably mold) He again just reiterated that it was just “because the ice machine is down.” I feel sick to my stomach this morning because we ate before I even noticed my cup and god only knows what my food had in it. Just thought I’d put out a PSA for anyone wanting to try Ichiya Ramen in Jonesboro. On an additional side note, the previous two times we have eaten there I had severe abdominal cramps and vomitted soon after but I assumed it was just because I had a stomach bug or something. I’m beginning to think their cleanliness is just not good and could be making people sick.

Haven’t ordered takeout from here in over a year because last time I ordered takeout here my ramen was deathly salty. I decided to give them another chance since this was once one of my favorite restaurants and their chicken kaarage and Ichiya buns have always been a favorite of mine. But I was wrong, to my surprise after getting excited about the food, I was halfway through eating my kaarage and noticed a soggy, slimy wilted piece of lettuce looking about a day away from molding that my chicken had been sitting on. After noticing the piece I checked my Ichiya bun and noticed the lettuce on that was also starting to turn. The food is also never consistent and there’s always new workers each time you go in there. I’m very disappointed and will not be returning, it’s truly sad to see a place you’ve loved and have gone to since they opened go downhill. Do better.

Food portion is way too small! Don't recommend!

My husband and I are huge fans of Japanese ramen and curry, so we were so excited to see we've finally got a good Japanese restaurant here. But we noticed every time we order take out, the food size is sooo much smaller than dining in. We like to order to go sometime during weekdays and dine in during weekends. Every time! No exceptions! Yesterday we ordered two Tonkatsu Rice Bowls. OMG, the fried pork on top of the curry only had 4 small pieces! We were shocked. It's not like we don't ever dine in so we don't know the actual size. But this time it was way too small than the normal size. I'll call them and complain about it for sure. I wish I took a picture. This is the first time I ever left a negative review.

So watch out. They will rip you off when you order take out!

I saw the response from the owner. They didn't mention anything that they would do to improve or make it up for the customers. So I won't delete or change my reviews. If they really care about the customers, they wouldn't rip off the food portion in the beginning. ...
