Captain D's — Restaurant in Jonesborough

I went through the drive thru and ordered a seafood combo which is 2pc fish 2 pc chicken and 2 sides . I also ordered 3pc of fish and 3pc of chicken by themselves and a side order of fries . When I got the order I looked in my bag and there were 3 containers. I looked in the 2 containers and had assumed the 3rd container was the chicken an fish combo . In the first box was a side of fries and in the last container was 3 chicken strips . I then went inside the restaurant and brought it to there attention and I told the 1st person I saw . At that time 2 of the workers that prepare the food said to me that there was not a way for me to order 3 pcs of fish by themselves. I said "look I ordered a chicken an fish combo and 3 pcs of fish and 3 pcs of chicken separate ". I said the 3 pcs of fish aren't in the bag . One of the guys then ripped open my bag an opend all of my containers and then put them all back in the ripped bag . He then went to the kitchen area and conversed with the other cook . Then the other cook came up to the counter and was gonna start going through the bag and open all the boxes a second time . I said you know I really dont want every employ of the restaurant opening g my food boxes and letting my food go cold . After about 10 mins one of the cooks xame back out to the counter and said to me "Oh I put the extra fish in the container with the combo . I said you know you guys went through my bag and went through my food 2 times and you didnt say anything an now that my food is ice cold and shoved into a ripped plastic bag your gonna say something now ? Then I wasn't even offered a new bag . Not one of them ever mentioned remaking my food after just about every one of them...

First time was about 6 months ago. Had a coupon and got a 2-piece fish & fries about 2:30 PM at the drive-through. I ate in the parking lot and it was fresh, hot and delicious. Fast forward to 3/20/21. Got dinner at the drive-through about 5:45 PM. The gentleman working the drive-through was polite and efficient. My girlfriend had grilled salmon on rice with fried okra and slaw. She said it was pretty good for the price. She thought the included bread stick was really good. I had the Deluxe Seafood Platter with slaw and mac & cheese. The fish was good. It has a light batter, and is much better than the frozen fish in the grocery store. The butterfly shrimp was good (could have cooked another minute) but were really small, about an inch or so across. I've never seen butterfly shrimp that small, but honestly for the money they were good. The hushpuppies and slaw are good. The mac & cheese was terrible. The stuffed crabs were terrible. They deep fry the entire thing, and they were rock hard and not hot or fresh. Most of their menu is of course fried food. The only thing you have to do to make it right, is cook it properly and serve it fresh and hot from the fryer. No heat lamps or re-frying allowed. I'll probably go back for lunch if I get a hankerin' for fried fish or a fish sandwich, and eat it there or in the parking lot. As for dinner, we'll wait until we can go to a good fish camp or real seafood restaurant and pay more for better quality and greater quantity food. Update: July 2022 Got a Giant Fish Sandwich at the drive through....

Placed a mobile order which gives a very short wait time for pickup around 3-5 minutes I believe. I arrived to the drive thru after 5 or so minutes with 2 trucks infront of me. I’m told to pull to the window for my mobile order by a man. 1st truck took over 20 minutes to get his order. 2nd truck had waited 30 minutes by the time he got to the window and there was some arguing that ensued that resulted in him giving her a bag of food back through the window and getting his cash back from her. Finally I pull to the window and there is a woman working but she honestly doesn’t even seem like she has a clue what is going on at all, like she had never worked there a day in her life. She was nice enough even telling me she hoped I hadn’t been waiting long which is funny since it had been over 30 minutes so not exactly fast food… The food was edible but not worth the time or price certainly. Had to drop a review when I saw it had 4 stars cause definitely not from...
