Lotus Xpress — Restaurant in Joplin

We recently moved to the area and have finally found our new FAVOURITE CHINESE FOOD!!! It's seriously the best Chinese food I've had since moving back home from living in China for 3 yrs lol but seriously, everything is super flavorful and completely on point! We got the garlic chicken and meme chicken which were both absolutely delish! The hot and sour and egg drop soups are both available for FREE at their self serve soup bar! You can even add all the yummy lil fried crispy pieces you want to your soup. My son specifically wanted egg drop soup but they were out and it was very close to closing time. Without us even having to ask, they said they were going to whip up a fresh batch and it would just be a few min. Now that is service! Ohhhh AND while my kiddo was waiting, they brought him over a sample of the pineapple boba smoothie drink and it was also INCREDIBLE! We literally went back and got the exact meal to go the very next day! 😅 And after writing this review, I'll be going there for lunch and probably getting enough for dinner for everyone else! Lol. The price is right, too! We love this place and appreciate how awesome and thoughtful all of the staff were to us. 🙏 Honestly it's rare to find these days around here and we're incredibly grateful and will be bringing our business here multiple times per week. 😁😁😁 I gave one 🌟 for atmosphere because the place is about as basic as it can get, not exactly first date material lol but places look like this when they're focus is on keeping the food good and the prices...

Update - Failed inspection not once but 3 times now?!?!? I won't return.

I visited here Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 7:33 PM. For dinner! I originally ordered a large garlic chicken fried rice. That was not it. I got a large chicken fried rice.

I told them what I wanted and they called my order back to me, then I went to pay. I pulled around after paying and waited a few minutes for my food, which was NOT a problem! Upon arriving at home, getting inside, I then realized it was NOT what I ordered. I did not think to check because I have absolutely never had this happen from this place. I called up to the store at around 9:00 pm. Explaining what was going on. Colton answered and stated they were closed. I then explained to him that I understood they were closed, I was just trying to explain what happened with my order. Colton then told me they would replace my food, but right before hanging up, he stated I had a "deadline" of a week to come and get it remade, or they wouldn't remake it. I have been very busy with work, and I wasn't able to make it in by his "deadline." So it's awful this place does that to people after they messed up the food and someone spent close to $15.00! I don't think it is very professional for a business to create deadlines on fixing an issue...

The negative comments blow my mind! My go to place had always been Orient Express before giving this little place a try. Today was my 2nd time going here on my lunch break. Went in and ordered to go both times. SUPER FAST, GREAT HOT, FRESH FOOD! People were friendly both times. Under 5 minutes from ordering to getting it. My 2 experiences so far were definitely 5 stars. So much food for the prices. For those negative comments about a wrong order, missing something or whatever else, this is fast food! Have you never gotten your order messed up at McDonald's? Another comment was about how they "beg" for tips. That's false! They have a jar that says something along the lines of "we ❤ tips and something else" not sure exactly what the rest said. They don't beg for tips lol. They appreciate tips as does any establishment. I've always been a person who tips no matter what. If the service and food is bad, I won't go back. Definitely will spend more time coming here! Food is great and...
