Whiskey Dick's — Restaurant in Joplin

This bar is patently the most 1mercurial and changeable bar I've ever experienced. The crowd fluxes from a basic bar cross section to glamorous women and college athletes and finally to a gay friendly romp. Everyone is welcome from the down home cliques of regulars to out-of-towners who googled "karaoke". The drinks are cold and well prepared (get a "little beer" shot!) and the staff are to a one welcoming and deserving of whatever you can tip. NYE was full of bon homie and Saint Patrick's Day was a close brush to a rave. Folks travel from the north around Pittsburg to coming down from Springfield just to get down. The singers (no matter how horrific their bays to the mellifluous lutings of well prepared songsters). Be sure to tip Jo every time she reboots the system (but never loses a singer) Come on and put a song in any night...

If you like karaoke bars and you're near downtown, Joplin, check this place out, you won't be disappointed. It's convenient, and the service is good. My complaints are with the sound equipment, and obsessive noise level and excessive crowding of groups around all the doorways and no one at any of the tables. It makes it an uncomfortable place to be for me. Especially as the people get more drunk and just stand there in your way and apologize profusely for being in your way then take another drink and turn around and remain in your way. By the way, if you tap their shoulder and politely ask them to move again, the same thing happens. It's sad because the location isn't bad and the service and drink selection is great, but the environment or atmosphere is...

Best local dive bar in Joplin! They've taken me in like family and always have good tunes, good vibes, and good drinks flowing all night long. The weeknight vibe is more relaxed, while Friday & Saturday nights can really get bumpin' once the college crowd comes through.

They've got an indoor karaoke room, pool table, outdoor patio, scheduled live music/DJs, cornhole, outdoor bar, etc. Ownership has really kept the place's energy consistent as long as I've been going here - and by the amount of regular customers, that's sure...
