SUPERB RESTAURANT This place has really fresh food. Everything is made fresh to order, so dont expect fast food. The hand battered chicken fried steak is excellent, nice thick crust and wonderful gravy. The smoked meatloaf is served with a sweet and tangy bbq sauce it is really amazing. Their seasonal veggies are always great. The hand cut fries are the best I've ever had. Try their loaded fries, you wont be disappointed. Believe me when I say, it is worth the time to drive here and well worth the money. Staff is super friendly and even the cook will come out on occasion to ask guests if they like their food. That means he really cares about each plate being served. They also have a great bar menu. Happy hour is really good and they serve some unique and different drinks. We have been so pleased with Hickory Tree- Joshua, that it's our new FAVORITE restaurant within 30 miles.

Two in one restaurant. In the morning the breakfast restaurant is the Main Street Biscuit Company at 3:00, on Sundays it turns back into The Hickory Tree Gill. SO this review is for the the MAin Street Biscuit Company and I will soon visit The Hickory Tree Grill and provided my thoughts for it as well. The Main Street Biscuit Company is the BEST! The food is incredible, the atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is friendly. This is not just a biscuit sandwich kind of place. Then menu is full and I can not believe anyone will have difficulty finding something they will love at this venue. I will add some photos and please make the short drive from the metroplex to try this restaurant you will be happy you did. Go see the Main Street Biscuit Company and Go See Texas!

I absolutely loved Hickory Tree. The food is incredible, service is great, the atmosphere at the new place is perfect! The prices are actually quite INexpensive for this quality of food. The new space has a beautifully preserved history dating back 130 years. The restaurant was a bank in 1903. A couple of the original windows are still present including 3 bullet holes. The beautiful bar area was a school and hospital. The last call bell is from the old train station dating back to early 1900's/late 1800's. And check out those cool bar foot "rails"! If you enjoy fantastic food and drinks with a bit of Joshua history thrown in, you should try this place.

Me and the wife have been looking forward to having our weekly date night here. The food was really good. Amanda was our server. We waited at the table for 10-15 minutes before we was greeted by Amanda. And she seemed a little off. We let it go and went on with our conversation between the wife and I. We ordered drinks and our appetizer while we had Amanda's attention. The red head behind the bar made our drinks. Dos equis and frozen mango margarita. Set them out for our waitress ( Amanda) to bring to us. But Amanda thought her pink personal phone was way more important than her customer. Well after 10 minutes of watching our drinks sit at the end of the bar I got up and asked another young lady if the drinks belonged to our table. And she was very polite and apologized and confirmed the drinks were mine. Well I had a warm dos equis and the wife had a melted frozen margarita. Ended up that another waitress helped us because Amanda told her to. And she did a fantastic job. Didn't catch her name. I wish I would've. Food was awsome. Amanda sucks at her job. She seem to put her job off on several other ladies that looked worn out. Mabe y'all have another job for Amanda. Like cleaning up after the other hard working waitresses that do a good job. I have never given any kind of review. I think this place has a great future. Like I said the food was awsome. I'm a great tipper and this is the first time I left...

I find it sad that my last review of hickory tree seems to have been from the beginning of a downfall in the ability of this establishment to serve its community. A few weeks ago for a family dinner after an especially rough week we thought that this would be a good choice. I called to see if they take reservations as I know that the dining room is fairly small and that they have extremely limited tables that are senior friendly (only 4 low tables) I was told that don't take reservations. Ok, cool. Then no call ahead either. Fine. Get there and have to wait 40 minutes for a table because of the 6 occupied tables all 4 low tables were unavailable. 80%of the restaurant was empty. Service was ok. Today we thought hey Hickory Tree let's give them another shot. My wife wasn't feeling well and they're food sounded good. Much to our dismay you are not allowed to make to go orders on the weekends. HUH!? Is it your goal to make sure that people don't get to eat your food?

I left my review from a year ago below when the changes first began....

Food is normally great tonight it was very salty. However, our server took care of it immediately. This place has consistently provided great food...

We have been getting Hickory Tree for a long time, even when they were in Burleson. The quality of the food and service has gone down ever since they left Burleson. I recently picked up a to go order, it’s easier for us. When I walked in, normally you’d be greated by the person at the bar. You know, ā€œhi, how can I help you this evening?ā€ I just stood there staring at the bar tender waiting for her to acknowledge my presence. She didn’t even really say anything, just looked at me. Then I told her why I was there. She didn’t ask my name or anything and took awhile to even check on it. My food ended up coming out late by almost 20 minutes. I spend quite a bit of money here and always tip 25% (you pay before picking up) for a service that just doesn’t seem worth it anymore. As a consumer, I’m taking my business elsewhere. This will be the last time that we venture off 20 plus minutes from Burleson to...
