I want to love this restaurant but they sure make it difficult. I know they are experiencing staffing shortages, but the ones they have would not have a job if they had a choice. Extremely slow, no smiles or how can I help you. Today I walked into an empty restaurant meaning, including me there were three other tables occupied. I sat for a good 10 minutes before a girl asked me if I needed a menu. She brought me water a basket of cold chips and a small bowl of salsa that wasn’t bad. I seated myself in a window booth next to a couple who also were waiting for service. When the server arrived to take their order she was very aware I was holding a menu and waiting to order as well, but she did not acknowledge me. After she left, a group of two couples walked in and chose a larger table near the back. They hardly sat down when the girl brought them menus, water and chips. Right behind her was the same server to take their orders. What the…. I realize as a lone diner, my bill is going to be less than a party of four but I’m a good tipper and the fact was I’d been there a good 15 minutes before they walked in. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed how inconsistent the service is at Mi Casa. It doesn’t justify poor service and treating customers differently. The food isn’t that great, the updated menu has very little Mexican dishes to choose from and the price increases are obscene. There are several good Mexican restaurants in Juneau. Mi Casa is not.

Read moreWas NOT impressed. Alaska Airlines had technical difficulties so they put us up in the Hotel and gave us food vouchers for Mi Casa. The food was lousy. The girl that range us up can't count. They offer 50% off for Military Discounts. My dinner was was $17.99 and my pop was $2.25 for a total of $20.24. My companions dinner was $16.99 plus $2.25 for a pop for a total of $$19.24. AK Air gave us $24.00 in vouchers for 2. With a 50% Military Discount i should have only had to pay about $20. I told our waiter that we would order dessert so we could tip him cause it was going to be less than $24. We order a dessert for $6.99. He said he would be back and said we owned way over the $24 voucher. I looked at my friend and mounted WTF. I should have only had to pay the remaining balance of $2.23 if my math is right or close to that with a 50% discount. I ended up OWING over $20. I had planned on giving our waiter a HUGE tip seams it shouldn't have cost us hardly anything to eat. Well that went down the toilet fast. Even though the service wasn't that great I still wanted to tip him something. It would have been a lot more had his cashier known how to count. Next time I will ask for a Manager to do the Math if i get stuck...

Chips and salsa, chips were just fried but very greasy and didn't like the taste of too much fat after consuming several of them, it didn't taste as good as in the past. Their new offering Tacos Al Pastor passable, it's dry, overcooked, too much carb to meat ratio, kitchen not flexible of request of grilling onions instead of raw onions, not willing to add al pastor as a a la carte burrito. Seasoning and flavor tasted better elsewhere. Bottom line, tacos al pastor not recommended, which is too bad as I would like to find a place that serves really tasty al pastor, and this doesn't cut it. Our waiter with the tattoos has an attitude, ignoring us then forgetting to inquire if the kitchen would make a burrito al pastor.
2018 Visited here for their Sunday brunch buffet. They offer salmon, oysters in their offering. The salmon is overcooked. There's Mexican food in the lineup. I took one nibble of their enchilada and left the rest on the plate to be thrown out. Desserts are generally too sweet, low quality.
The omelette made to order is top notch, generous with the fillings and the only best thing out of...
