I've been going to this Del Taco for over 15+ years and never had any issues. Tonight I ordered $25 worth of food via drive thru and asked for as much sauce as possible and my fries be well done (which has never been an issue before). I got 6 items including fries. I received my food and seen I had 4 packets of sauce. So I pull out of the drive thru in front of the door not to slow the drive thru any more because I already waited about 10 mins at the window. I calmly walked in and waited to be noticed by a staff member and finally someone asked me what they can help me with and I told them I have 6 items and 4 packets of sauce when I asked for a lot of sauce. The staff member then asked somebody else to get me sauce and they handed me 4 more packets of sauce. I said thanks for my l 4 packets of sauce for my $25 dollars worth of food. Walked out. Now I'm halfway home and I reach for some fries and grab 2 fries and they are cold and soggy and im 5 mins away from their location. Once I got home I noticed my fries which were large was only half full. Half full as in the fries don't reach the cut in the fries cup. So called them and they picked up the phone and hung up on me without any hesitation and I was just trying to notify them of their mistakes and someone doesn't get angry and yell in their restaurant but perhaps that's what they need to fix their...
Read moreI've finally gone crazy from how many chances I've tried to give this location, but I feel somewhat better because apparently plenty of other people believe it sucks, too. Where to begin?
The first thing I've tried to brush off since the beginning is how this location's portion sizes are significantly smaller than other locations. The size of their bean and cheese burritos is about the size of a chicken roller at other locations. This is the one thing which has never failed to disappoint at this location. You are quite literally being ripped off/sold short. (I'll upload pictures of a comparison sometime soon.)
The next thing is that the food never quite tastes the same... most of the time, the beans are undercooked. The sauces taste different? The food clumps like it might have been reheated? Am I insane? Am I biased? Am I imagining this? Have I imagined it dozens of times while picking bean skins from my teeth??
They seem perpetually understaffed. No wonder the employees look so unhappy here. Cold food. And dry tortillas! How are these people storing the tortillas? I NEED ANSWERS.
Well I'm going to light a candle and weep over the tragedy of this Del Taco being the only 24hr location close to me. Maybe if I ask God's forgiveness of our collective sin, He'll have mercy and bless us with another with hot, fully cooked, adequately...
Read moreCurrently they have a worker standing outside taking orders on a tablet which he said will make their orders come out faster, I don’t see how but okay. He kind of seemed like he didn’t enjoy his job by standing outside taking orders either. The problem here is 1.he was standing so far back from the menu we couldn’t see it and decide (the internet service sucks in that shopping center so the online menu wouldn’t even load, was disappointed), and due to COVID why would we touch the laminated menu he’s holding that he offered to us? How do we know it’s clean or anything of that sort? And 2.I don’t really see how taking our order that way makes for faster since he seemed to have a minor issue taking our order and told us to give him a second. I’m sure the order would’ve came out just as fast if we orders at the normal speaker with the full menu that even shows your seasonal options. And we got a mini line that piled up behind us, instead maybe use the speaker and an employee outside to take orders from the people behind those at the speaker, and just know how to work in an organized and efficient manor to get orders our correct and fast.
