Didn't buy anything because their rewards system and card system was down. I spent half an hour shopping only to be told I had to use cash.... They need plan B for these situations. I have found that their cashier systems are pretty outdated. It's been frustrating to order online where everything comes from Texas, is charged weird on the account because you know how much they are charging, but not what they are sending. I have gotten items I didn't order, low quality items I did order, different versions of what I ordered. I would prefer to get one box with everything at once than 20 oversized boxes with items that aren't thoughtfully put together just to get them out. There should be an option for your order to arrive in a single shipment. It's so wasteful and hard to track on the statement as well as one ounce arrives at a time. It's exhausting to submit a large order online and track each time as it comes in. Each time I have tried it... Something doesn't add up. It's not free no matter how much you spend if you don't but strictly the Michaels brand. So for all these reasons I prefer to shop in person... But yesterday was a tremendous fail. I had my cart loaded and my card ready. I left with nothing. I don't carry cash. Especially not for the kinds of purchases I make. Having the system down...I just went home. I knew I should have gone to hobby lobby instead....I had a gut feeling and they are usually right. You got some work to do Michael's to stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNever had an issue with Michaels before, except this one. I dont frequent craft stores often, mainly I go when my wife asks me to stop there after work to pick her up something, but for some odd reason, These employees strongly profile me. Sure I am not in casual clothes and just left a dusty jobsite. So I stop in because the old battle axe requests hot glue sticks. So I am looking for the darn things and they announce security check, loss prevention this and that... Me and an elderly couple were the only ones in the store from what I gathered... So I go to an employee in the front to ask where the glue guns/glue stick section is. This woman replies in such an ugly tone "we dont sell that stuff here!"...... Really? I then knew that they thought i was up to no good getting a response like that. Astonished, I thanked her and left completely blown away by how their (or just her) assumptions could be followed up in such a manner. Thank god for the dollar tree a few shops down, they had them, and were very courteous and polite too. I told my wife what had happened and her being a regular in there couldnt believe it. "We dont carry glue sticks here"..... And McDonald's doesnt serve hamburgers anymore either huh? What is this world coming...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis Michaelās has a good selection for crafters and home decor items. They are not usually crowded. They are in a plaza with a lot of other retailers like Ross and Kirklands. The staff is pretty friendly but they do not seem to be very knowledgeable regarding the difference between store policy and what an individual may want. This is not the first time when using coupons it has been presented to me as if the cashier or the store manager was doing me a favor. I had no expectation of receiving anything other than the savings as indicated on the individual coupon be it 40% 50% or 60% Michaelās advertises that they accept competitors coupons so it is not a personal favor to accept a JoAnnās or Hobby...
