I flushed 50.00 down the toilet last night when I ordered door dash for Great Wall. Not one to not support small businesses but this restaurant does not make anything close to authentic Chinese food. The orange chicken was a gelatinous mess with no chicken inside on many of the pieces. It was so disgusting. The only thing remotely redeeming was the Chinese chicken noodle soup which had a decent broth and miniscule chunks of white chicken with noodles past al dente. I write this even with the knowledge that this restaurant has lasted the test of time since I remember going to college here 20 years ago when my classmates used to order from here (I never did). I just do not approve of restaurants cutting a million corners and masquerading as a rich culture with delicious food when it does no such thing. I went to hunan gardens with my kids today and the experience and quality was a little better. If you value authentic Chinese food great wall does not have it. If you want a solid pan Asian culinary experience I recommend cravings cafe inside pacific rim. I only went to Great Wall because cravings cafe is closed Mondays...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrder Chinese at 9 for delivery, one hour before close, but my apartment is less that 10 minutes away. Said my order would be here at 10:10 (10 minutes after close, but thatās not my problem) eatstreet emailed me around 9:30 requesting I call Great Wall, called and the rude man who answered repeated told me he didnāt have an order with my number and I might have ordered from another Great Wall, I told the rude man that this was the number I was instructed to call. Asked him if he had an order with my items and he said yes, and he had called me three times and no one answered. Now I would like to know how you called if you ādonāt have that number..ā once I figured out the man was lying he told me there was no more delivery drivers for the night, 30 minutes before close. But they made damn sure to take the money out of my account, plus a tip. Definitely lost a customer, but campus wok is cheaper and way better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt first I got the impression that the man working the front counter was I little abrasive until one day I decided to order in restaurant for take out, my order was prepared and ready in no more than 20 minutes wait. I did observe so much rudeness and theft from the door dash drivers that made me upset myself. The restaurant had to remake 4 orders in my short wait time because of either driver theft or customers providing inaccurate addreses I assume. The fact that he has the ability to smile greet you with a pleasant respectful tone is nothing short of a miracle. It was a 3 ring circus of activity and he is responsible for every single order being put into the correct hands with all the correct items included. 27 orders plus my own in 20 minutes time is fantastic with the 4 remakes as well. They kicked 32 orders in 20 minutes time, well...
