Taco bar is almost always a win (once they couldn't keep any tortillas and we ended up walking out, not sure if it was a short staffed day or what). Service is always the issue. You're lucky to get a refill on your drink without asking (and if you are a 2+ refill kinda person bring your heater), today the young lady with plugs looked at me like I had an eye growing out of my forehead when she walked up to our table to clear empty taco baskets, saw both our drinks were obviously empty, asked if she could get us anything and I said politely, more drink please (and specified cherry coke). She got the drinks, dropped then off at the table without a word and a tense attitude (though I did say thank you). Not the first time I've had issues with that server, often feel like my business is a burden to her, and we are always very polite, at least until she starts throwing her passive aggressive shade. She was also overheard cursing at the taco bar by my date, who was standing right next to her, they made eye contact and the young lady walked away with an annoyed look.
Authentic Mexican tacos, lots of variety, great salsas if you like spicey (mild varieties available, more American style toppings also available). I'll keep going for the taco bar, and rationing my beverage knowing I'm gonna have to flag someone down or pull a pistol to get prompt or multiple refills. Rated 3 stars for the consistent...
Read moreWhen we find a Mexican restaurant outside of my hometown of El Paso, Tx I’m usually thinking it won’t be truly authentic and keep my expectations very low. This place is AUTHENTIC!! The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Carmen was very kind and she treated us so well. We went with our twin toddlers and they were very accommodating. The kids loved the rice and beans and chicken taco (flour tortilla). My husband had the green enchiladas with the chicken pibil (seasonal marinade) and I had the pollo con mole (reminded me of back home in Chihuahua!). Both were very good and Carmen brought out the special spicy salsas which were both homemade and delicious. The salsa used for the green enchiladas literally reminded me of back home: tons of flavor (onion, garlic, chiles) well balanced and not overly salty.
Oh and the tostadas (chips) are made in house, another sign of a truly authentic Mexican restaurant. Carmen also gave our kiddos free popsicles from their Mi Michoacán side business. ¡Gracias Carmen!
Please support this restaurant! We don’t live here but if we did we would certainly be regulars!
Gracias Mi Pueblo por su servicio y riquísima comida que me dejo extrañado a mi tierra mexicana. ¡Que Dios me...
Read moreI have no idea how this place has received the good reviews it has. The food is terrible! I ordered a wet chicken burrito. First of all they put lettuce inside the burrito, who does that!?! The chicken was incredibly salty and everything else in/on the burrito was bland. I say everything, but what I mean is the rice, beans, and iceburg lettuce they put inside in addition to the salty chicken, had no flavor whatsoever. The red sauce and cheese on top were no better. The other item ordered was a pork chimichanga. Again REALLY SALTY meat, they said the saltyest meat they'd ever tasted. So, salted pork inside a fried tortilla, with the same bland mixture as inside the burrito, and was topped with a drizzling sour cream. SO BAD!!! We went there on a recommendation, dissapointment doesn't beging to cover the experience. OH! And the food was also out in about 5 minutes, we paid $20 for salty...
