Counted about 5-6 flies flying or landing on the food in the display case where the oatmeal display had been knocked over and ignored. Ordered egg white bites, a nitro, and a tea. The tea was way too sweet (not sure if that's a Starbucks thing or this store specifically), the nitro was alright, and the egg whites never came.
Waited about 10 more minutes before we asked the barista up front. The other worker seemed to have forgotten to put in the order (confusing bc we were 1 of 2 people in line and the second person ordered right after me, no other customers in line at the store for those 10 min...). The barista up front said he would get it, turned around a minute later to tell us they were actually out of the egg whites.
We bought a snack pack instead. Ate the cheese, pretzels, and got to the apples to find that they dissolved into apple sauce when touched.... The pack had expired and was never removed from the case. They said sorry, handed us another snack pack and that was it...
While we sat and worked, more flies were flitting about. Eventually left because the flies were too annoying. Also looked like maybe they were doing inventory of some kind? All the boxes stacked in the front by the display case that weren't touched the entire time I was there. Either I came at a really really reaaally bad time, or this place really doesn't care at all about the state of the store (and the possible health violations with all those flies in that display...
Read moreThis location is consistently very slow and/or crowded and always has cars wrapped around the building at the drive thru. I drive by this location almost everyday because I go to the Planet Fitness this Starbucks shares a parking lot with and there has never been a time I haven’t seen cars wrapped around the building. I also go at various times during the day and they all tend it be rather crowded no matter when you go. I thought “hey it might be crowded, but maybe they have enough workers to compensate and maybe the line goes by quickly”. No. I’ve tried the drive thru a few times but have left multiple times due to waiting over 15 minutes to even order. Then, I have to wait additional time to get my order. I’ve also gone inside to order and while going inside tends to be quicker, it is still very slow. I don’t recommend waiting in line that long for drinks. I only recommend coming here if you order in advance on the app. The line won’t go by quickly, regardless of what you think. I’m sure the workers are nice people, but management should really hire more employees or change something. I would love to go here more often for a coffee run before I hit the gym but unfortunately I can’t get Starbucks as often as I’d like due to so many locations in the Kalamazoo area being consistently slow. Best of luck to this location and the workers; I’m sure...
Read moreI recently visited this Starbucks before my class, in the morning during this week. I have to say that my experience was a bit disappointing, but usually it’s fine. When I got to the window to pay for my drink, I noticed that there was no option for me to choose the tip amount, which I usually like to do as a courtesy. It appeared that the employee had already selected a tip option for me, before I pulled forward?..I can’t say that they chose no tip, but If I can see a difference of price of my drink then I’m going to assume you chose the tip amount. He also had a facial expression that made me feel some way.
While I appreciate the service provided by baristas, I believe that tipping should always be a choice left to the customer. It felt a bit uncomfortable and suspicious to have this choice made for me. I usually tip a dollar or two, but I believe in the principle of giving customers to decide whether and how much they want to tip.:)
I didn't call out the employee on this, but I hope this feedback can encourage a more transparent and customer-friendly approach in the future. We tip based on our experience. If this happens again, I’ll definitely be speaking to the manager or the employee. Leave the tip screen alone! Let customers tip or pass on the tip. There’s no need for you to hit no...
