What-A-Burger — Restaurant in Kannapolis

I'm from Texas so naturally when I learn of a local business with the same name as our Texas icon I felt I needed to try it. I went into this with no intention of comparing the two chains and this review is of this place as it is!! I went to this location because it was the top rated in the area and from the great service of the staff I can see why. I will say I'm pleasantly surprised at how wide the options on their menu stretched, and in the end I ordered their top rated food items and the local treats you can't really get anywhere else. So I ordered the Double What-A-Cheeseburger which was decent sized, fresh, and juicy. For the sides I went with the curly fries and onion rings, which were pretty much what you'd expect. Their two unique drink concoctions I tried were the "Cherry Lemon Drop" which was great, and the "Witch Doctor" which as you can see from the picture has quite a bit of Pickle in it which probably was just too much for me, so of the two definitely the Cherry lemon is my recommendation. Lastly for dessert I asked the ladies working the counter what their best dessert was and one of them stepped forward and said hands down their "Funnel cake Fries" with Choclate dipping sauce, which they definitely need to formally publish on their advertised menu cause it was definitely a unique treat that stood out from anything else offered!! Bottom line is it the best in the world, no, did I enjoy my meal and recommend this...

It was a wonderfully delicious visit. I found the staff to be very curtious and friendly. They prepared our food in next to no time and it was hot and fresh, nothing tasted as if it had been sitting and reheated. The burgers are above average size and I get a lot of good for those who have huge appetites. The inside of the restaurant is most definitely smaller and older but if you have a good thing in my opinion why would you change it. It was clean and even though out of date. You can also have the option to pull up to a speaker and order like the good old days when they had car hops on skates to deliver the good to you. The restrooms were clean up in my visit I am a big stickler of the look of a restroom when I go to use it. The staff also took turns frequently checking the dining room and wiping things down to make sure you have a clean atmoshere to be in when I go to sit down. It wasn't packed out when I went but it was around 3:30 I'm the afternoon on a weekday and I can say they had a steady stream of people at that time. I can imagine that at peak times it is standing room only inside and perhaps lined up out the door. I would definitely recommend you give this place a try!! I know I'll be frequenting it a lot now that I live not far from it. ENJOY AND HOPE THIS...

I went to this location because the other 2 locations we're closed since it is Sunday. I decided to go in because the curb side seemed really full. I came in an their were a lot of other people waiting. When I finally get to place my order the cashier says their will be a 40 minute wait. My reasoning behind waiting was because I wanted Whataburger brand of cheeseburger. So I ordered my cheeseburger and a drink.

Now I'm a manager at a fast food restaurant and I'm not judging how things are run at another place of business but the thing that pissed me off the most was the guy with short hair in a gray shirt kind of a bigger build. He was playing around, and eating ice cream in front of other customers. I'm not sure if he was crossed trained to do other things but when you have 40 minute​ ticket times I believe everyone should be helping to do something.

I'm not sure if this location was short staffed and I didn't see any ceiling cameras but I feel like the owner or GM needs to find out what happened tonight 6/11/17.
