Fortunati Pizza — Restaurant in Kansas City

I’ll start by saying that I am definitely a pizza and cheeseburger kind of guy. I’ve tried just about every pizza place in Kansas City ranging from gas station pizza to all the popular pizza restaurants . My wife and I had the pepperoni. It was REALLY good. The crust was the perfect mix of chewy and crunchy and the honey was a very nice touch without being too much. There was also just the right amount of grease on top for those that appreciate a good pepperoni pizza. The staff was very friendly, service was great, and the space was clean. Probably won’t be long before more people hear about this place and hopefully they can open other locations which I would love to see since we drove from south Overland Park just to try them. Best pizza I've had in Kansas City since Pizza Bella. Amazing pizza crust with a great very satisfying chewy texture and a delicious flavor on its own, made with local Marion Milling flour - a sort of a Neapolitan meets New York pizza but slightly thicker. The individual ingredients have obviously been chosen and prepared with care, and are combined together into delicious pizzas with individual flavor profiles. The "Tradish" sauce on the pepperoni pizza had the perfect tartness/sugar/salt balance; the mushrooms on the vegetable pizza were roasted and combined with the roasted garlic and pecorino cream sauce into an amazing umami flavor. So happy to have found Fortunati and will definitely be returning for their pizza again and again....

Good luck getting service. We live across the street and they are only open 4 days a week. But even when they are opened, they disconnect the phones, & post “out of stock” for weeks on end. Really wish, they would give the opportunity for another business to operate and run full time so that the tenants that live near by have a better option.
