The haunted house itself was amazing for the most part. Many of the rooms and passageways were pitch black or underlit preventing you from being able to fully appreciate all the props and scenery. Several passageways had very intense strobe lights for excessive amounts of time that were really annoying and added nothing to the experience. Adding some very dim lights to the pitch black areas and toning down those strobe lights would greatly improve the experience.
The logistics of getting set up for entry have room for improvement. First of all the website allowed us to purchase tickets for 7:30 pm, but we arrived to find the place didn’t even open until 8:00 pm. No staff was there to tell us they had screwed up and sold tickets they shouldn’t have so we were left confused. Then when staff were starting to show up we were informed that between when we purchased the tickets and our date to attend they had totally changed the process and now required us to go to a totally different location down the street to sign a waiver. Nowhere on the website or in the ticket confirmation email was that mentioned. The signs pointing you to the checkin area once we got headed that way were so small you couldn’t even read them unless you were within 5 feet of them. We got there early and got through the line ok, but noticed the line was about 3 blocks long to that pre check in area by the time we left. The way that was arranged was very inefficient. They should just require you to sign a waiver as part of the purchase and be done with it. And if you are going to totally change the process after the sale, you need to send a follow up email letting...
Read moreThe theatre was the best out of the three attractions I went to. (Have reviews up for beast and edge of hell as well.) Like beast and edge of hell, lines were long and there was a lack in having enough actors both for inside of house and out in lines. I do give this one props for front of house though. They did try to space out groups with enough time to hopefully not catch up to the group ahead of you. Sadly you still ended up running into groups ahead of you. The Actors I did run into did try to help if they noticed groups were catching up to one another and “stalled” us (good thing to do.) Another positive was THERE WAS ACTUALLY ENOUGH LIGHTING TO SEE THE SETS AND ANIMATRONICS!! I do have to say the killer clown girls did a good job, they kept you engaged and didn’t let up. Actually almost every actor i engaged with kept up their persona and went along with what was happening. Not just a “raaawr” then I’m done with you. Like beast and edge, rules were not said at any location before entering the haunt (no touching actors, props, etc etc). All in all, this attraction maybe be smaller and themed differently?.. but the macabre theatre has shown itself to the best out of all 3 “must...
Read moreMacabre cinema is definitely not a house to sleep on. I’ve always made it a point to go to the edge of hell and the beast and have always been told that macabre was the worst of the three. I see it stand just as good as the other two. I find the theming to be really well and you get to see all your favorite characters from the scary movies we watched as kids. It’s terrifying! From Annabelle to Freddy and Jason. One of my favorite rooms was the killer clowns. You go on this spinning platform and the room glows! Another of my favorite rooms/ labyrinths is what I believe to be the crypt keeper or the mummy area. The floor is sand! It’s like you’re really there! The theming is amazing. I highly recommend to anyone that has had this stipulation that it’s not a good haunted house, whoever started that rumor is wrong! I can’t wait for next year to hit up all three! The staff is super friendly, and accommodating, even offered us candy at the end of our...
