Wow, a KCK cultural icon. My family has been going here since they were children. Let's talk about the options. Lasagna, sausage rolls, salads, calzone, and you can't forget about the pizza.
Beautiful smiles in the front, and hard working craftsmen in the back.
I came in today at first open. I was met with friendly conversations and enthusiasm when it came to my order. 11am is still early, and having worked in the business before, I know its hard to have that enthusiasm right at open on a Tuesday morning.
Yesterday, I ordered a few delicious items. The ability to select different options to customize your meal is perfect for dinner dates, family meals, or just feeling like getting out of the house.
What blew me away was the slice of cheese pizza. Big NYC slice of FLAVOR! Perfectly seasoned with the right amount of garlic, perfect carriage, and crisp to the finish. It felt wrong dipping it in my leftover marinara from my sausage roll. So wrong, that I had to come in this morning, and order that large NYC pie; cheese of course.
Driving home, I could not resist! It was a pleasure to eat. The pizza was not floppy, it held up great. Perfect for my impatient self. The garlic and seasonings were perfect.
Look, I am a big guy, and I have eaten a lot of food in my lifetime. The complexity of the flavors was so welcoming, it honestly caught me off guard. Every bite was a rotation of flavors. It never became dull.
The crust was pleasant to bite into, enjoyable without any sauce that most people are used to NEEDING. The slight sourness from the fermentation is foreign from most pizza places. It reminded me of when I used to work at another pizza joint here in KC.
I didn't realize how much of an impact that had on a pizza. Slight sourdough notes, Garlic, cheese, crispy, and a soft crunch on the crust. Truly a masterpiece.
20$ for a whole pie or about 3 dollars for a slice, both after tax. Fantastic!
Normally I eat most of a cheese pizza, and give the rest to my dogs. I finished it all as my guilty pleasure before I made it in the door, Jesus forgive me.
The only part I would say was disappointing, was the look in my dogs eyes after smelling my breath. Wide eyes of excitement looking for a non existant pizza, just the smell alone had them craving.
Next time, I will have to show some restraint. Just know the only difference in taste from the first slice and the last was the temperature of the cheese.
Straight from the oven with love, served with respect towards...
Read moreWe have ate here 10+ times and have always had a decent experience. Today I ordered chicken Alfredo with sauce on the side (health reasons) and when it came out wrong I asked if it could be fixed and the girl working the register asked one of the back girls who stated, “if it would have been on the order right it would have been like that” (also the girl at the register came and asked us if we wanted sauce on the side just to make sure before they gave us our food so I know she definitely did her job correctly)the girl told her that’s what she put on the order so the girl told me to give the food back which I handed her the container with chicken and sauce back and she was like I need the noodles too. There was no reason she needed the noodles because I just needed the chicken and the sauce separated but I still handed them to her in which she ripped the em out of my hand. I then asked her what the problem was, she rolled her eyes at me and I asked her what her name was (I obviously was going to tel the manager of my bad experience) she turned and walked away from me. One of the managers came out and o was telling her what had happened and the girl comes up saying, “ you don’t need to know my name!!” And basically trying to argue with me over the manager, the manager asks her to step away and apologizes. Needless to say we won’t be returning, which really saddens me but you should never let your employee argue with customers who were calmly talking to a manager. I was not being rude or acting out of hand I was simply stating to the manger that the situation was uncalled for. (Not to mention every time we come in we spend well over $70 to eat here bc I love supporting local so to be treated like that was out of hand.) I will also add the food here is delicious, the cannolis are amazing & I hope they go over some customer service skills with the staff so I can eat here...
Read more3/27/25 Mid Afternoon- I’ve been a consistent customer of Italian Delight for almost 40 years. The service has usually been pretty good. Everyone is nice, food is usually pretty good. I really can’t complain about the food or service, UNTIL NOW. I just paid almost $30 for a medium pizza with four toppings. If I’m going to pay gourmet prices for a pizza, I at least want the toppings to cover the crust. I’d already left and gotten home (my fault for not checking) before I opened the box and saw that the skimpy toppings on my pizza, maybe covered half of the slices about halfway to the top of the crust. DO BETTER Italian Delight. Customers should not have to check their order to make sure it is sufficient for the price they are paying. DO BETTER, You don’t want to be like PH. 4/01/25 A big thank to the owner for responding. Regarding your response about not contacting you about the poorly made Pizza, I did not contact the establishment because I have reached out regarding an issue in the past. I personally spoke with the male owner in person with a picture to back up my experience and I was just kind of brushed off. That negative experience, led me to believe “it doesn’t matter”, which said to me, “why bother”. On the other hand, I absolutely will not stop patronizing Italian Delight, it would have to be something much more serious than this, OR consistently poor service for me to totally stop patronizing Italian Delight. And I must say the service has not been consistently poor. Hopefully the employee who made my pizza on that particular day (and I’m absolutely sure you know exactly who it was) was spoken with about not “cheating” customers, “intentionally or...
