I just popped in for a quick, breaded Italian steak sandwich and it was exactly what I was looking for! It came smothered with cheese & shaved onions, which I thought was a great addition! Then the whole Sammie was baked to get it all hot & toasty! I've seen in other reviews that some think the bread is too hard. But mine was perfect & held up well to the sauce & cheese!
So many options on the menu & everything looked great coming out of the kitchen! Especially the sandwiches piled high with Italian meats! I'll have to come here everyday for weeks to try everything, ha! Great place for a very casual, quick bite of real deal Italian fare! And there were LOTS of Togo meals going out!
A bit confusing for first timers as far as knowing what to do after I ordered my food. No sign showing where to pick it up & the cook was just calling out ticket numbers & walking off. Also, the straws, napkins, etc were hard to see in the corner & behind a table customers were eating at. I got back in the order line and had to wait to ask for some before I saw them in the dining area. Oops, lol! I'm NOT complaining. Just warning first timers like me to be prepared and pay attention, lol. But now I got it down! Anyways, definitely give this place a try! I loved it and can't wait...
Read moreEarlier in the week, I mentioned on social media which days my family would be in town and asked the owner of Jasper's when they would be offering the mozzarella theater everyone talks about. He told me Monday through Saturday, lunch and dinner through September. After driving 30 minutes for lunch on Saturday, I noticed the Jasper's side was closed. I asked the cashier on the deli side of this restaurant about the mozzarella theater and explained I had double checked with the owner earlier in the week. She was friendly and even went and double checked but informed me they were having a private party so we had to eat on the deli side. This was not posted anywhere on their social media or website. The deli is quick service so my mom had a slice of pizza, I had a side caesar salad and chicken parmesan which came with a a little bit of bread, and my sister had a side garden salad and eggplant parmesan (they forgot her bread but she asked for it and they happily obliged). It was pretty good and I would try it again if I was in the area, but would not make a special trip for this or back to Jasper's again in case the hours...
Read moreExcellent food, good service. Had planned on going to the more upscale tables service next door but ended up on the deli/cafe style side. Didn't realize it until later, but these are both run by the same company.
The cannolli was good, the shell flavorful, fresh, and there were just layers of flavor in it ( along with mini chocolate chips). The anti-pasta salad was the real deal with artichoke, peperoncini, olives and prosciutto. It was delicious. I had the chicken parm Sandwhich, which tasted amazing. My wife had the meatball sub, which she said could have only been by by having one more meatball in. (She ended up stealing a bit of my chicken that was literally hanging off the bun).
There is counter service with a few t seeables and benches to sit at. Plus a little market with typically Italian things (pasta, sauce, salsa dressings, canned tomatoes) and they sell the cannolli shells there too, if you are looking to make you own, skip the hard part and pick up a bag of these full sized crunchy delights and fill them with whatever you want.
For a quick lunch with really good Italian food check...
