My Wife and I just had lunch here and the atmosphere and service were great. The food left us considering the meal for quite a while and we debated what kind of review to leave. We started with the Loaded House chips which were great. I ordered the SOB sandwich and my wife ordered the Chimichurri Burger and a mixed drink. Our first surprise should not have been a surprise but we were caught off guard at the small size of the "Mason jar" my wife's drink was served in. We debated weather or not the $10.00 price tag for the drink should have told us it was going to be small. In the end we decided it wasn't a big issue as she really liked the drink. Next we received our main orders. My Sandwich was good. It wasn't amazing, nor enough to make me specifically I want to go back again for another one but definitely a good burger. My wife however was a bit of a different story and in the end the actual point of contention of the meal. First she had the coleslaw instead of fries and discovered it to be too bitter for her liking, but there are lots of ways to make Coleslaw and this flavor was definitely in the normally acceptable range. This isn't really an issue as she had just shared in the hose chips and knew she would have plenty of food. Her sandwich however caused a bit of an issue. Again she had the Monthly special "The Chimichurri Burger" the picture on the site showed a large quantity of the Chimichurri and "spring mix" as well as Bacon Jam. Hers came with nothing we recognized as the Chimichurri from the picture, and what looked like a tablespoon of bacon bits. The "Spring Mix" appeared to be nothing more than a large piece of lettuce. My wife had ordered the sandwich with the gluten free bun which turned out to be dry and crumbly, and on the whole the sandwich was very bland. When we mentioned the issues with the Sandwich to the Waitress she informed us that the 5-6 small green strips on the sandwich were in-fact the Chimichurri. she said that there had been other mentions on the buns being dry. She offered to bring us a small cup of the Chimichurri and bacon jam that my wife could add to the sandwich. We thanked her for the offer and accepted. A few minutes later another waitress delivered a small sauce cup of Chimichurri but no sign of the bacon jam. My wife then removed the bun and wrapped the lettuce around the remaining parts of the sandwich and added the new Chimichurri. At that point she was very pleased with the sandwich, and stated that it was very tasty and good. Unfortunately a bit later we we received the bill and discovered that they charged us for the extra Chimichurri that by all rights was advertised as coming on the sandwich to begin with. In the end we were well fed and the food was good but the small things added up and the food was nothing amazing and as such we are not planning a return anytime soon. Even if the desert menu did...
Read moreI hate to start off with a cliche...but this is truly a change of pace and a hidden GEM in KCK! This is FAR better than anything I've eaten at the Legends. We started with the hog bones. We were smart to get 2 orders. The most tender pork EVER! So flavorful - perfectly marinated, with a nice asian/spicy/slightly crunchy finish. And the sauce....whoa nelly! My goodness...a spicy- sweet cilantro infused nectar from the heavens. Amazing! I got the JR burger with added bacon. It was very tasty, and moist. Cooked perfectly to order. Veggies were fresh and crisp....and I'm a bit of a burger snob. But what stole the show were the garlic cheese fries. I can't believe I just complimented some potatoes like that...But they were slap ya mama good! I LOVE garlic...but I don't care for tons of cheese...this was a garlic lovers dream with just a few sprinkles of parmesan on top, so it was perfect! I've never had fries this good. I took a pic of the burger...but it didn't do it justice as I took it at the wrong angle and I ate the fries so fast I forgot to photograph them. :( BUT I do have a photo of the hog bones! My sister got the prime rib and she said it was excellent...and she's hard to please when it comes to food. The ambiance is so awesome. Very clean, unique decor. Loved the mason jar lights above the tables. The manager CJ came to our table and was so very gracious when we shared our glowing review with him. Very diverse clientele and staff, not to mention it is a family friendly establishment, despite having a separate bar area. Service was initially a little slow, but it was friendly and picked up and definitely was on par for the rest of our meal. Happy to support a local, yummy, friendly establishment. I hope they continue to do well! Random, but I wish they had some karaoke! We will...
Read moreThe place was very clean and classy feel to it. Saw large party there and it filled several tables and they looked like they were enjoying themselves. My husband and I had a cozy table for two for our anniversary and we were worried that it was going to ruin our romantic dinner but the staff managed to make sure the party was having fun and not disturbing us and did great. Only food wasn't hot because our waitress knew the people at the party so she spent a lot of her time with them and they weren't her tables. She never came back after food was dropped off so we had to try to get her attention and she would say she would bring it right out but would stop to chat with her friends and forget. We finally went and found takeout boxes so we could go home and eat warm food. So basically the food was great the staff did a great job of crowd management to ensure that everyone there was going to have the night they wanted. Just wish our waitress was more professional because we took our food home and heated it up in the microwave. We will go back one more time to see if is a pattern or just that waitress because we did love the food the ambience and the staff but we would like to get attention from our server so we have all of our menu at the same time. We got our drinks first then our salads came out together and we had to call her over to ask for refills and we never did get those. So we found containers leaf the money on the table and had a romantic...
