Pizza Tascio - Waldo — Restaurant in Kansas City

First: The pizza is amazing! We ordered 2; a pepperoni and a supreme w/roasted garlic. I've never had NY style that I really liked because I'm not big on thin, saggy, soggy pizza. But their thin crust has a crispiness and texture I've never seen before; you fold it and it doesn't droop and dump your toppings into your lap and it maintains that texture till it's gone. They do light sauce, but it's terrific and seems to have a hint of heat in the seasoning. Again: Amazing. Toppings all seem fresh cut and they give you plenty of them. It's NY pizza that has great flavor, texture, and crust. Second: This is a carry-out restaurant. They have some seating, but they're clearly not going for ambiance, and it's counter service, only. But that's ok, because the pizza is amazing. Third: The pizza's are huge 18" pies, which is extra-large in most places. We had 5 people and really barely needed the second pizza, so it's pretty good value, too! Summary: It wasn't like anything I've ever had or expected (especially for NY style), but this will be one of my go-to places. I will not be going to or ordering from Pizza Tascio again. I had heard it was good. I put in an order online from Waldo Pizza Tascio one Sunday. The online order was done at 4:00pm for pickup at 5:55 for two pizzas. I received two confirmations, one by text, one by email. I arrived at Pizza Tascio a little before 5:55pm only to be told they had no record of my order. They had no pizza for me. I showed them my text confirmation whereupon one of the salespeople launched into a big excuse about how their system and phones and etc.etc. had been down. They then said they'd make my pizzas immediately and I stood there waiting another 20+ minutes to receive my pizza order. The manager apologized and said he'd refund my money the next day. He has not. I did take the pizza home to my family. I thought the dough on the regular one was soggy and the deep dish was like thick bread with cheese on it. We were disappointed and thought it very average. Maybe others have had better experiences, but me and my family will not be going back. I'm still waiting...

The service was disappointing. We came in and requested the S.P.O pizza and requested we get white sauce over red sauce. All we were met with was total confusion. The cashier went to ask the kitchen if they had ‘white sauce’. We were told no. There must be some disconnect either between the staff and the menu, or the customers and the menu. When we looked at the presented menu, it showed 2 sauce options, red or white. The menu has a pizza with a white sauce, so I’d like to understand why it was such a crazy request to ask for it on a different pizza. The pizza tasted great, but the service was bitter and was enough for me to realize that there are multiple other pizza places nearby that provided better service than this.
