After falling in love with Elhelmyia restaurant, I was thrilled to hear they’ve opened a new food truck so of course i had to check it out.
I went there for the Kebda (beef liver) sandwiches… and oh boy, they were amazing.
Like If you ever loved street food in Egypt, this is a pure nostalgia trip. from the flavor to the freshness, the bread and seasoning were all spot on. honestly, I’m convinced they have a secret portal in the back of the truck that teleports them to Egypt to grab the food straight from the street carts. it is that authentic!
As someone with a degree in kebdaology, I proudly approve.
I might have over ate here but I couldn’t resist trying more, so I ordered the Hawawshi which basically is an Egyptian pita bread stuffed with minced meat and then grilled. The meat to fat ratio, seasoning, and that crispy bread... 10/10
Their Shish Tawook ( grilled chicken ) was super juicy and packed with flavor, and the Kofta kebab Sandwich was super as well.
I loved their drink selection as well. The classic peach Schweppes malt and pomegranate Schweppes hit the spot and completed the experience.
on top of the amazing food, the owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's just that energy and passion they have makes Elhelmyia so special.

The koshari—a traditional mix of rice, lentils, pasta, and crispy onions topped with spicy tomato sauce—is perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The molokhia was silky and savory, just like it’s meant to be, and the grilled kofta was juicy and well-seasoned.
The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, happy to explain dishes to those unfamiliar with Egyptian food, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
