I dined here tonight with my friend . It was truly the most unpleasant dining experience we ever had . When we first came in we were waiting at the host stand it felt like for over 6-7 minutes . Which is very ridiculous for a steakhouse . You would think a manager or someone would understand how important first impressions are but it truly felt forever . Then I’m assuming a server comes over to sit us . He was a Hispanic male wearing a white button down shirt with a tie . We ordered drinks and didn’t wait too long for them to come out . The salad they had looked great . Some things were a bit some were a miss . I had a sweet potato salad where the sweet potatoes were so over salted my mouth puckered . But I chose to not say anything because I’m in the industry as well and I also work as a server in a steakhouse . I gave them the benefit of the doubt . And just enjoyed everything else I got on my plate such as the Brazilian corn and beets . It didn’t take us long for us to change our cards to green . However I noticed it took a long a very long time for someone to actually serve us some meat. I noticed some of them were skipping us on purpose me and my friend were confused why as it was our first time and our card was green . We get the ribeye as the first meat and it was so sadly unseasoned . It tasted like boiled beef and had a very off putting smell . One guy who offered me a piece of beef was kind of rude to me . The meat fell on the table and he didn’t even apologize or anything . The whole piece of meat just fell on the table because of him and he just walked away . They kept coming back with the chicken and other cheap cuts which were very basic and bland . We were left hungry for hours because they kept skipping our table . No one checked in on us for hours . Until we got one attention of what seemed like a busser girl . My friend wanted to order a glass of wine with his steak and never even got a chanc ego order it because after someone got our drink orders , no one ever willingly came back . The chicken tasted like basic rotisserie chicken . Nothing special . Surprisingly the best cut of the night was the filet mignon. I order a lobster and I guess they forgot to put it in . So by the time we were done eating our meats we mentioned it to them . And they didn’t even realize as I guess whoever took our order first didn’t put it in . My friend asked two different people tonight who was our server . And no one seemed to know the answer . We were there at like 5:30 ish until around 9 ish . And we still left hungry just because we kept getting ignored . We should have ordered our dessert to go but I wanted to savor our experience . My friend asks the manager who was our server and he told her nobody took care of us at all tonight and he told her he was trying to get a glass of wine with our meal . She apologizes and asks if he wanted a glass of wine then and there . She didn’t understand that he wanted to order his wine with the steak not savor it when he’s finished . And she told us that there’s three servers and everyone just takes care of everyone . So I’m guessing no sections . That tells me a lot about a place . It tells me that they are unorganized and very inefficient . So she apologizes and busses the rest of our plates . We barely ate . Our bill was like 164 for barely eating . I had like 4 tiny pieces and mostly salads. The night ended off where we got our tres leche . Everythibg was just taking so long . The tres leche was taking damn near 30 min . Overall this is the worst dining experience I ever had . The managers were running around like chickens as their only priorities were not guests inside but turning tables just to make a profit . The female manager really out a bad taste in our mouths . She seemed very stressed and irritated with her job and annoyed that we even...
Read moreI chose Fogo in Katy to celebrate my 1st Mother's Day. We decided to eat this weekend since we couldn't get a reservation for next Sunday. The waitress, N (not going to put her first name here) came over and greeted us, showed us menu, and got our drink order. We chose the indulgent churassco because we wanted an order of the lobster tail and crab cakes, plus it includes a free dessert with each indulgent meal. I hit the market table which had all the salads, Italian meats, cheeses, veggies, salmon, and fruits. Since it was brunch they also had a made to order omelet station, mini waffles, tomato soup, potato hash, and glazed bacon.
When they brought the drinks to the table (coke zero and brazillian lemonade), they also brought the cheese bread, mashed potatoes, bananas and polenta sticks. The brazillian lemonade tasted watered down, sweet, wasn't tart. The brazillian cheese bread was fluffy and soft.
My husband loves eggs so he liked the light omelet with onion, peppers, cheese, and ham. I grabbed salami, salmon, cheese, a little bit of Cesar salad, a mini waffle, and tomato soup. Everything at the market table was fresh however the soup was cold.
Moving on to meats. I'm a sucker for picahna, unfortunately they gave me a piece that had large grains of salt on it, the outside was cook, the otherside was raw, basically. I also tried the bacon wrapped beef, a lamb chop, half a slice of beef ribs, a piece of filet mignon, and sirloin. Every piece of meat except for the picahna was underseasoned. Every piece of meat was cooked almost medium well. My husband is a 6'2 Carnivore had 3 pieces of meat and stopped. He went back to the market table for salads and fruit.
N, our waitress, came over twice (at the beginning and when she gave us our drinks). She had a large party that arrived 15 mins after us, so we didn't see her for a very long time. Our drinks were not refilled and the side dishes weren't either. I tried to get her attention a few times but she didn't see me. Another waitress saw me and came over to assist. I asked for refills, bananas and if they had chimichirri because I needed something to help the meat. A few minutes later she came with the drinks and chimichurri.
N, finally came over and apologized for not checking in on us. I asked for a molten lava dessert for here and a cheesecake to go. The desserts were brought over by the other waitress and I asked for the check soon after because we were ready to go.
The highlight to Fogo is the lobster tail which my husband and I each had a bite of it, and the crab cake. It was filled with crabs.
I was hoping to really love Fogo since it's now in Katy however the food, esp the meat was unseasoned and TOUGH. The service wasn't great either.
If you like Chama Gauche, then go to Chama. Don't settle and go to Fogo bc it's close to home (in Katy). The meats are superior, the salmon and chicken salad at Chama is better too. I order the pitcher of lemonade at Chama, and didn't even finish a 2nd glass at Fogo. The cheese bread and sides are better...
Read moreI just had an awful date night here (Saturday 7/26/25). We were 15mins late for our reservation, but when we arrived, we had to wait an additional 20mins to be seated.
Once seated, our table and chairs were very comfortable and the lighting was nice and appropriate. But the music playing in the room was so loud and, combined with all the patrons in the room talking all at once, it was difficult to have a conversation with a person sitting across from you at your table. We had to shout, at times, in order to hear each other.
Next we went to the market side bar and the items there were standard fare (cold cuts, cheese, salad, candied bacon, mushrooms, etc). We were then given sides at our table (mashed potatoes, cooked plantains, etc) and they were very good. But our waitress forgot to bring out the cheesy bread until we asked them (around 45mins after we were seated). When the bread eventually came out, it was cold and tough. We honestly couldn’t believe it. It’s the signature side at every Brazilian steakhouse and we couldn’t even get that properly here.
Our waitress did the best she could but she didn’t have enough help. There just weren’t enough waiters and meat servers, and the place was packed. And the meat servers that were there, they seemed to pass us by over and over and over, until we specifically asked them to bring over the meats to our table.
Once they did start coming to our table, the meats were underwhelming overall. The picahna was great but every other cut was chewy and cooked medium well, even though we asked for medium rare (the server would say that it was medium, even as they cut it and saw that the meat was gray throughout).
The lobster tail, as part of the $59 Surf and Turf promotion, was very disappointing. It was small, overcooked, and, despite being “bathed in butter”, tasted as if it was bland leather. Also important to note about the $59 Surf and Turf promotion: you don’t get lamb chops, filet mignon, or shrimp. Important to know what you don’t get with the promotion. I would recommend just getting the regular $63/person dinner, since the lobster tail is really small and you only get one.
Lastly, I feel I have to emphasize this point: the front manager must have had an off-night, because he was horrible. He seemed overwhelmed and rushed everywhere. At the very tail end of our meal, he stopped by to ask how our meal was, but before I could answer, he rushed away without saying anything.
I felt really bad for our waitress, as I think she did the best she could given the circumstances. But the room was just really large (much larger than Gauchos Do Sul) and there weren’t enough staff to service every table properly. And it felt like management cheaped out on hiring enough servers for a Saturday night.
I may come back but on a less busy night to see if the food and service...
