Here's the bottom line - the chicken is good. The coleslaw is terrible (obviously not there for that, but it came with the combo so...) Their ranch dressing is no more than an off brand Hidden Valley Ranch or something like that (which is fifty cents each...yuck!), the calamari is decent, the coke must be from a 2L that they pour in a pitcher with ice and refill your glass with (rather flat), the parmesan truffle fries are good & the service is sub par. We went during the afternoon. The nighttime might make for better ambiance because you don't notice how terrible the bench seats are (the huge upholstery rips made it uncomfortable to sit while wearing shorts - it's really bad.) The staff wear black and my husband made a comment that our server looked sloppy. There was the smell of Fabuloso (or some type of cleaner) in use (not what you want to smell while eating), & our table needed some sweeping underneath it before we sat down. I do not derive any pleasure from penning a negative review about an establishment because it means it was a bit of a waste of our money and time. Try HOTSOME CHICKEN instead off Long Point. The food is DELISH! It's clean, bright and the wings with their Korean Junkie sauce are SO YUMMY! Our bill for an order of Calamari, a coke 20piece combo & parmesan truffle fries came to: $55.75. We tipped $10 on top of that regardless, but MAN, there are WAY TOO MANY PLACES IN the Katy/ Houston surrounding area to waste your money here. Sorry, HooDaDak... gotta do better!

If you love incredibly crunchy and juicy Korean fried chicken, very flavorful seasonings and sauces, and addicting fries, Hoodadak is a must-try! We have tried both their Westheimer and Katy locations, and they are both excellent. The restaurant feels very casual and cozy, with a few references to South Korea on the walls and a line of beers on tap behind the ordering counter. Space is a little limited here compared to their 2-story Westheimer location but still decent. We have tried their half chicken and chicken wings in two flavors: soy-garlic and spicy. All the food is always made-to-order so it comes to you piping hot (we practically burn ourselves every time because we can't stop eating), but that does mean it also typically takes 20-30 minutes so be patient. It's all definitely worth the wait. From the 4 times we have visited, the chicken is consistently crunchy and juicy, the fries have a crisp exterior and soft inside, and everything is perfectly seasoned. The soy-garlic sauce is addicting, definitely our favorite flavor. The spicy seasoning is great and actually quite spicy similar to/slightly spicier than Nongshim ramen packets. Esther and I are a little divided by the sauces that come with the chicken: I thought that the spicy mayo sauce and ranch are good but nothing special, mostly for adding some extra moisture but the food is seasoned so well you don't really need it. Esther found them a great complement to the meal.

Trekked out here on a Friday evening and was not disappointed! A group of 5 of us went (was 1 vegetarian) and were seated immediately. There was only a couple of tables open. Browsing through the menu and also with the help of yelp, we decided on the soy garlic wings as well as the hot fried (which was the dry rub, no sauce wings). Along with that, we ordered a regular fries, waffle fries and spicy fries. The fries were very well portioned out and a great munching treat throughout the meal.

The wings came out probably in 15-20 minutes and was piping hot. I was a bit disappointed in the size as they seemed a little smaller than regular wings but they were still fill after 6-7 of them. The hot fried were really good and I think I enjoyed them even better than the soy garlic. They definitely have a kick to them so beware! I was so excited for the soy garlic but I was slightly disappointed as they were not very saucy. The breading soaked up a lot of the sauce but after asking for some extra sauce on the side, it was much better!

They don’t have anything for vegetarians (except for fries and miso soup) which is we knew of and is fine, since they are a wine establishment but it was a bit disappointing that they couldn’t whip up something like the fried rice that they have on their lunch menu and accommodate.

Overall, pretty happy with the wings! It’s not a trek I will commonly do but at the same time, I wouldn’t...
